The house was very clean and the property was beautiful. The hot tub was very inviting and warm. Unfortunately we were there during a storm but it was nice and cozy inside. Ashley was very helpful.
We had an amazing stay! The home was clean, spacious, and full of cozy nooks for reading and relaxing. Even with cold, rainy weather, the heated tile floors were a godsend, and our 96-year-old father could navigate the property easily. The kitchen was well-stocked with quality cookware and dishes, making cooking simple and enjoyable. We loved the hot tubâeven in the rainâand the cute workspace/gaming area was a fun bonus. The location was perfectâwithin walking distance to restaurants and wineries, and ideal for day adventures to Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. The property managers were professional, responsive, and quick to help with any questions or troubleshooting, making the stay seamless.Highly recommend this property for comfort, convenience, and a cozy, accessible experience. We would gladly return!
The house was large, spacious and had enough bedrooms for all of us to stay in. It is in a lovely setting with a beautiful view of the green hills in the backyard. It is walking distance to small stores and wineries. It is peaceful & relaxing.
Perfect property for our group of 10 adults. Very close to the wedding activities we attended at the Bernardus Lodge and Spa. The bath and bedroom accommodations were the perfect setup. Shared spaces were well stocked and furnished. The backyard/pool area was a relaxing oasis!
The house is adorable. Check in was smooth. The layout and spaciousness was as described. There was a little bit of a bug issue. Especially a full ant infestation in the upstairs bathroom.
We had a great 40th birthday trip at the house! It is a great property and hosts are very responsive. There was an issue that the listing when we booked (8 months prior) had different information that was changed without notice. However, once the issue was discovered it was resolved - very responsive. We loved the hot tub and walking distance to downtown!
We had a wonderful family trip to this property. We hiked at the nearby Garland Ranch Park, went to a wine tasting within walking distance of the property, BBQ'd one evening and sat around the fire pit for some dessert. There is quite a bit more to do in the area and it is within a reasonable distance from Carmel and Monterey. We had one elderly person in our group who was able to enjoy the spacious lawns with a walker. A memorable trip!
We had a wonderful stay. The house and property is beautiful. Everything was very clean and stocked well.
We had a couple issues and management took care of it right away.
Canât wait to stay here again!
The property was beautiful and so clean!
The management was incredibly accommodating and allowed me to come in and check things out before my final payment was due⊠It was beautiful and we hope to stay there for the event we will be doing annually there in the area.
Our adult children and their young children spent the weekend here with my husband and me for a wedding nearby. They all agreed I made a great choice! This precious house was perfect for a large group and is so utterly charming with the stone facade and fairytale windows. My grandsons thanked me for renting a Disney castle! The living spaces were perfect and ample, as was the beautiful kitchen where we all gathered in the mornings. All essential supplies were well stocked and that was much appreciated, the grounds and pool area are beyond lovely. In addition the beds were super comfortable (which prevented grumpy humans due to bad sleep!). Those of you who travel with large families know what I am talking about.
If you are not familiar with the Carmel Valley area I will mention that the Valley is a perfect place for a quiet, tranquil stay. There is a strict noise ordinance in the Valley after 9:00pm or 10:00 (including at the wedding we attended) so this is not a place where you can come and party outside all night by the pool with loud music and laughter. (Just so you have a heads up before booking.)
The LuxeVaca associates were great communicators before and during our stay, and I would not hesitate to book their houses available in other areas for future trips. I can tell they pride themselves on providing a top-notch luxury experience. Well done! - and thank you!
Architecturally it is a very unique home and the layout accommodated our family reunion well: it was spacious, comfortable, and had fantastic outdoor space and view. This house is very special and has a LOT of potential, but not a âluxuryâ property in its current state. The kitchen/ dining room is a beautiful gathering space and well equipped except for the stove/ oven. They have replaced the high-end unit pictured, with the bottom-of-the-line range - inconsistent with the quality of the house. Heating the pool is not an option. I had read several reviews that the hot tub was not working, so I proactively reached out to the host 1 œ weeks before our stay to ensure it was working. When we arrived, it was not working! The management was quick to respond, but given the holiday weekend, it did not work for our 5-day stay. The hot tub needs some TLC, exposed pipes etcâŠdoes not look safe/ comfortable to sit on top of it. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returningâŠif the hot tub was updated/ worked.
We had a fabulous time celebrating two 60th birthdays with a group of girlfriends. Perfect location, walking distance to wineries and town. Beautiful home.
It was very unique and accommodated our family gathering well.
The stove/oven was not as pictured. The nice one had been replaced with one that looks like it should be in an apartment, not a âluxuryâ property. The hood in the kitchen was useless while cooking. There was algae growth in the pool and the exposed rebar and plastic pipes in and around the spa are quite unsafe.
This property has so much potential, but it is definitely in a state of disrepair and needs A LOT of TLC.
We all had a great time. There was plenty of room for sleeping and bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub even though the weather was a little bit on the cool side and some rain we grilled every night and enjoyed the large kitchen so we could all eat together.
This house was really a fun and unique place to stay! Beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, supplies, dishes, silverware, etc. and the cookware was good quality. Management was very helpful and provided a high chair and portable crib for baby. The hot tub was great even in cold weather. Itâs a quiet neighborhood but close to markets, restaurants, wine tasting, Carmel, etc. We enjoyed a family of deer that visited the yard. Our family had a great time at the house!
This is a very unique property in an nice location. It would be even better if if were maintained. Exhaust fan over the stove/oven did not work; when the a maintenance team came to fix it they found that there wasn't any fan installed. The shower in the master suite did not work; the plumbers replaced the shower head and it worked for exactly two showers before being reduced to a dribble again. The cable connection to the TV in the kitchen does not work. Although there is a garbage disposal visible under the kitchen sink, there is not obvious switch to turn it on.
A message to VRBO/Luxe Vaca - if you are going to continue to list this place at the current rates, you really should do a better job of due diligence. It is fairly outrageous to charge what you do for something this poorly maintained.
Overall a great place for a family reunion: spacious, comfortable, fantastic outdoor space, beautiful view and convenient walk to restaurants, shops and wineries.
Great house for a guys trip to Monterey Bay for Car week - House weâll accommodated 7 or us - it is well outfitted, comfortable, and peaceful. The house has nice grounds, a fire pit, and plenty of parking. It was our second stay in the house.
We came here for a wedding in Carmel and this property accommodated our family beautifully. It was spacious, well-appointed and very private, with gorgeous grounds. We will definitely rent this property again for a future family vacation!
We rented the villa for a long weekend with friends (11 adults and a child) and really enjoyed it. The location is within walking distance to restaurants, wineries, and markets. The home has comfortable leather couches so a large group can chat near the wood-burning fireplace. The garden is huge and well maintained with a full set of outdoor furniture, and the pool and spa were nice and warm.
We had a private chef come and cook a celebration dinner and the kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and serving pieces. The fancy stove in some pictures has been replaced by a basic stove/oven, but it worked fine. The local property managers were very responsive over text.
The religious decor is an interesting nod to the local mission, but I'd suggest removing crosses from bedrooms. We did notice a few minor things that needed attention, like loose stones by the pool, a missing drain cover in a sink, and a toilet tank cover that was broken and mended. The kitchen could really use a full set of drinking glasses, though there were plenty of cups. One of the bedrooms upstairs is an open room that has been screened off, a proper wall and door would be better.
Overall it was a great option for our group and we'd consider returning.
