Black Bear Holler Cabins/Cozy Rustic Cabin just outside of Historic Murphy NC

The Bunkhouse Cabin at Black Bear Holler Cabins is a cozy simple rustic one-bedroom/one-bath cabin that is located adjacent to the main cabin and is amazingly comfortable.

The cabin can accommodate up to 4 adults with an Amish Queen bed and a full-size futon, both have soft luxurious sheets.

The kitchenette has a microwave, mini-refrigerator, toaster, Keurig coffee maker with paper plates/plastic utensils and condiments for coffee/tea. There is a Blackstone grill on the deck of the Bunkhouse and there is a Firepit/Grill behind the main cabin and grill utensils are provided. No other cookware provided.

The full bathroom has a tub and shower with luxurious towels.

There is a small rear deck with two rocker chairs.
You can relax in wooden rockers around the firepit with limited complimentary firewood provided.

The hydro-spa hot tub has been winterized and will not be available till the Spring/Summer

The Bunkhouse is the perfect combination of Glamping crossed with a rustic cabin and a hotel stay.

We fell in love with Murphy and believe you will too. We are less than an hour from the Nantahala National Forest which locals call the rainforest of North Carolina that provides awesome rafting, hiking, and waterfalls.

We are also approximately an hour from the Tail of the Dragon and Maggie Valley. You will experience some of the best motorcycle riding anywhere in this country here in Southwest North Carolina and minutes from Georgia & Tennessee's beautiful scenic roadways.

There are some great wineries, breweries & boutique shopping within or less than an hour or two away. We are within two hours of Asheville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, or Atlanta and their respective airports.

Perfect location to get away from the fast paced city life. Perfect place to disconnect from the world. This area is known for its nature and not its technology.

NO PETS FROM NOVEMBER THRU APRIL. We are very pet friendly as we have four dogs of our own but have a strict pet policy.
A crate is required at check-in for all unattended pets (dogs only) and absolutely no pee-pads with a refundable pet security deposit. If your dog is found unattended in the cabin when we restock supplies or refresh the cabin, the pet security deposit is forfeited.
NOT AVAILABLE FROM NOVEMBER THRU APRIL.
We also offer pet sitting for $5 per dog per hour. We do not have breed or quantity restrictions. Please do not try and sneak a pet(s) in as we greet everyone checking in no matter the time, plus we have a security camera facing the driveway and entrance to the rental cabin. We are truly dog lovers but we are sorry that prior guests have made the requirement for the rules we have in place.
Cats absolutely are NOT allowed under any circumstances as the owner of the property is handicapped and extremely allergic to cats. That applies to service/therapy cats as well.
Birds are allowed. There will be an additional cleaning fee of $100 to clean up after caged birds and a $250 cleaning fee for any birds allowed loose inside of the cabin.
All other animals you must contact us.

Amazing property

This property was amazing, still decorated for the holidays, cabin was extremely clean, host are very accommodating and gracious. They were very accessible, even though we had no problems with the cabin. We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family. We would rent this again should the need arise.

Cozy bunkhouse getaway

Overall this stay was pleasant and cozy. Comfy bed and couch and decent kitchenette. Access to nice hot tub. Short distance from downtown Murphy and river walk, antiquing, Appalachian Driving Experience (rent a Porsche), and good food. Cabin was clean and well kept and owners kept good communication and restocked items regularly.

Beautiful clean cabin with unusual requirements

So let me start by saying this was the cleanest cabin we've ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything you could need on your trip, such as shampoo, conditioner, k cups, etc. The location is great. It's just minutes from downtown. The owners live right next door in the big cabin mentioned in the listing. You have to meet them to check in, sign paperwork, etc just to get the key. We've never had to do this and weren't a fan on this intimate check in process. Upon booking, you are required to buy damage protection to stay here or pay a very high refundable deposit, which the owner has full discretion of keeping! We almost didn't book because of this, but we booked this trip last minute and it was the only nice one available. We also brought our 24 lb jack russell terrier mix that is 13 years old. Upon arrival we find we had to pay a refundable deposit, in addition to the damage protection, to have our dog here. The owner at check in said he must be crated whenever we weren't there, which was on the listing. She then said " WHEN I come in, if he isn't crated you'll lose your deposit. " Not IF she had to come in, but when. This creeped us out and we took our dog everywhere with us because of this statement. This felt like an invasion of privacy. Needless to say, despite the beautiful clean cabin and amenities we won't be staying here again. It's clear they've had issues with past renters, but your going to lose repeat and potential renters due to how bitter you've become. I strongly suggest you reconsider your approach to renters.

GREAT GET-AWAY!

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights to get away and celebrate her 40th Birthday. Some friends joined us for the first night. We had a great time at the Bunkhouse, enjoyed the fire-pit and the hot tub. Our hosts were outstanding and we look forward to seeing them again!

Mountain Getaway

This was the perfect getaway in the mountains. The cabin was charming, clean and quiet with a great view of nature. The amenities were perfect for cabin life - grill, fire pit, jacuzzi etc. The hosts were amazing and very attentive. l will definitely recommend this place to others needing an escape and hope to make it back myself soon!
