The hotel however, is seriously âinterestingâ ï. Itâs not really a hotel. Itâs a series of abandoned high-rise apartment buildings. Looks like they ran out of money bid way through the project. Itâs about a 4 minute drive off the highway on a red dirt road, with mud and huge holes. Seems to be near a factory and outside of the front are some slums that I can see this morning. The âfront deskâ is a lady sitting in an apartment downstairs. She asked me if I just preferred to share her apartment for the night. I told her, thatâs ok, I booked a two bedroom and she said., ok, I will take you upstairs. I am at the top floor, no elevator! Got inside the apartment. Phone, cable, and internet are all âbrokenâ. Only cold water, which was fun for my 2 AM bath⊠burrrrrr. Two âshowersâ Turned on one, and through the gaping hole it the wall, I saw the pipe was broken inside of the wall and gushing water everyone. Not that one! So I went to the other. On the one, the shower head didnât work at all, but there was a âstandpipeâ style part where I could get cold water flowing. Hahaha. Was ârefreshingâ after 18 hours of travel. Then the bed- Was apparent the sheets had not been changed. There was dirt/ sand on the inside of the bed. I folded it back up, took the two towels that I find in the apartment, put them on top of the bed and laid on those. Used my jacket as my blanket.
