Secluded Estate On 1.5 Acres With House, Cottage, And Pond
This breathtaking, hidden gem with magnificent landscaping will add a touch of serenity to your Nantucket get-away. Nestled only 1.5 miles from the ferry docks and half-a-mile from Nantucket Town's Historic District, it is a perfect location for easy access to the Island's restaurants, shops, and beaches, yet also provides complete privacy. This captivating compound is accessible through a privacy gate which opens to a stunning view of the entire expanse of the property. To the left lies the one-acre, ten feet deep pond with an on-shore dory for easy enjoyment. A stone path leads first to the cottage on the right and then to the main house situated towards the rear of the property. Many mature trees grace the lawn with alluring sitting areas placed throughout.
A shaded brick patio adorns the kitchen entrance of the main house. The functional kitchen features granite countertops and custom cabinets; it is ready for use if you are not dining at one of Nantucket's many fine restaurants. The kitchen opens onto the dining and sitting area, complete with an extraordinary view of the pond. Off the kitchen is a bathroom with a walk-in tile shower, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a den with comfortable seating. French doors in the den lead to a stone patio enhanced with a pergola, gas grill, and seating. The upstairs features two large bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other with two twins which can be converted to a king, plus a full sleeper sofa, and armoires. The bathroom has a tile tub surround. The finished basement includes the washer and dryer, a queen sleeper sofa, 40' flat screen, and is well stocked with board games and puzzles. There is an outdoor shower attached to the main house.
The main room in the quintessential country cottage has an open kitchen design with a sitting room adorned with a stunning field stone wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen features a modern retro stove and refrigerator with custom cabinetry. Off the kitchen is a stone patio. The first floor also has a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second floor contains the charming master suite with a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and an expansive en suite bathroom with a claw-foot tub and walk-in shower. The laundry facilities are in the basement. The cottage is finely appointed with textured plaster walls, exposed hand-hewn beams, handmade curtains, high-end plumbing fixtures, and reclaimed chestnut flooring.
Both houses feature original paintings, many by local artists.
A small outbuilding with French door access houses an onsite office, complete with hardline Internet connectivity.
Both the cottage and the main house were spectacular. Extremely clean and neat! Easy access to town and main Cisco beach. Beautiful property and the little row boat was so fun! I would stay here again and again.
The house and cottage were just as pictured, but the real hit was the pond and dinghy!! Our kids spent hours catching turtles. There is also a wide-open space between house and cottage that was great for ball games. Also, trees to climb and space for the kids to run around. The neighborhood is great, but donât plan on walking to the historic part...a little far and no sidewalks on much of it. There was no problem getting an Uber. For us, the beautiful property far outweighed that inconvenience!
The property is peaceful, and quiet and has a great location for accessing the many things to do on Nantucket. We enjoyed the row boat and pond, complete with red winged blackbirds, and a heron. Many thanks to our hosts, Eric and Pam. Communication was great. We appreciated their kindness and flexibility with check in and check out.
Couldnât have asked for a better host or property! Eric and Pam were both very responsive to our questions. Our group thought the property was even better than the listing. The yard was massive and there was plenty of room for are group of 12. Hoping to stay at the property again sometime in the future.
Thank you Eric & Pam
We had an amazing stay.
Thereâs plenty of room for a big group to comfortably sleep/hang out and tons of comfortable outdoor space including a huge dining table with a grill, outdoor couches, and adirondacks on the pond.
The hosts were very welcoming and responsive.
They also had tons of beach chairs and beach towels which were fabulous.
The location was very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go.
Great spot!
This place was divine. There were five total families with our group (one single, two couples, and two families of four [with children ranging from 1 to 10 years old]), and each unit stayed in their own bedroom - we never ended up using the queen pullout couch in the basement. We loved every bit of the entire experience! Weâd sit in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond in the afternoons; Iâd read to my kids on the patio in the mornings amid the hydrangeas; weâd dine as a whole group under the pergola in the evenings; and weâd watch our kids run around the grounds, row in the dory attempting to catch turtles, and climb trees throughout the day. It was a haven to return to after biking to town or spending the day at the beach. A mama duck and her ducklings visited us frequently each day, and a doe and two fawns meandered across the lawn a couple of times, too. My husband really appreciated the little standalone office each morning to get his work done - very Thoreau-esque. Our week here was such a needed escape and we would love to return every year if we could! So magical, and the photos donât do it justice. Thank you, Pam and Eric, for being so accommodating, responsive, and wonderful!
This property was very special. Our hosts were responsive to answering questions about home and surrounding area during booking and check-in. We were able to access property prior to designated check-in time, relax, and take-in the view of gorgeous landscape. The property, house, cottage, and writing shed were absolutely stunning and immaculate. I especially appreciated the attention given to selection of cotton sheets, down comforters and pillows, and towels. The cottage was a bit fancier than the main house; the bedrooms were gorgeous, the bathrooms were large and designed with high-end materials, the bathtub overlooking the pond was amazing, the linen selections were lovely, the dishes were whimsical, and the outdoor patio was a wonderful space to seek solitude. The main house served as our main gathering spot for meals. The kitchen was gorgeous and provided a large island that was perfect for preparing, arranging, and serving food. The Copper pots and pans were an absolute luxury, and revealed an entirely different level of cooking than we had been accustomed to prior to our visit. The bedrooms were each unique, and provided individual heating control, which was nice. The bathrooms were well designed and the materials were amazing, the shower on the first floor was so nice. We enjoyed using the den in the evening to relax and watch sports, movies. The outside side patio with dining table was absolutely gorgeous and provided an additional place to gather for meals outside. The writing shed was a life-saver for providing a quite place to work. The pond was beautiful and populated by a resident bullfrog who serenaded us. The privacy of the property, outdoor landscaping, and the amenities were exceptional. Of special note were the expansive collection of trees and flowering bushes, there was a carpet of pink blossoms that was absolutely stunning along one edge of the main house which, if timed right, would be gorgeous for a small wedding and reception. This property and the hosts attentiveness exceeded our expectations, which is saying a lot as we are very selective! This property is among the top VRBO properties we have rented.
Wonderful house and property - perfect for a long weekend stay with friends and family! Eric (property owner) was extremely responsive and helpful! Would definitely recommend and go back.
We visited Eric's property with a large group of friends for a long weekend. Eric was an amazing host and the property was gorgeous! It seemed like everything we needed was a short drive away, but we also enjoyed just spending time enjoying the beautiful yard and pond views. It felt like our own private estate! We hope to stay here again in the future!
It's difficult finding accommodations that work for a big family (ages ranging from 1 1/2 to 84 years) but this property delivered! It's close to town but so beautifully landscaped that when you are there, you feel a million miles away. We enjoyed sight seeing during the day and spending evenings together in the home chatting in the Adirondack chairs by the pond, working on puzzles, and exploring the grounds. There are plenty of bedrooms so everyone can stretch out and have time to themselves but there is also ample family room space for evening entertainment and dining (the bathroom in the guest cottage is gigantic!) We had a fantastic time and would book this house again without hesitation. The pictures we took on the property are so beautiful that they alone are worth the price of booking. Thank you so much for opening your home to us. We will treasure the fond memories we have of our trip.
