TRULY CENTRAL EAST NASHVILLE COTTAGE

The Cottage:
Located in the popular East Nashville neighborhood a hidden garden oasis awaits you as you enter the courtyard through your completely private entrance. The guest cottage was originally a railroad workers home and one of the oldest structures in the neighborhood. Built in the mid 1800’s, the now renovated cottage is a unique hideaway close to downtown and reflects a love of art, gardening and the comforts of your “home away from home”. It is perfect for a single person or couple to enjoy a restful and cozy environment after a full day of visiting Music City.

The guest cottage is run by two culturally experienced, open-minded, world travelers who offer a practical, comfortable and inspired visit for people who, given the correct amenities and location, prefer to take care of themselves.

The cottage features it's own separate entrance in the alley behind the main home.
Your stay will leave you in want of nothing else except to explore the sights and sounds of what is nicknamed “Nashvegas”.
So come on and be our guest and experience the old and new Nashville!

Guests Arrival:
When you reserve your visit you are given the code for your easy access to self-check in. I am available by text or cell in the event you need anything or have any questions while you enjoy your stay.

The Neighborhood:
The cottage is located in the most popular neighborhood in Nashville and just minutes away from downtown and lower Broadway’s famous Honky Tonks and the world famous Ryman Auditorium. You are also a short drive to the many hip restaurants, coffee shops and local drinking establishments near our historic “5 Points” neighborhood in East Nashville.

Getting Around:
If you prefer not to drive, the public transit system is 2 blocks away, however I suggest you use Uber or Lyft for easy connivence getting around our city.
The cottage is just under 4 miles by car to I-24 making it an easy access to venture out and tour other parts of Nashville and/or drop in on the many music venues all within 10 to 15 minutes from the cottage.

We are located just blocks from the Music City Bikeway which has direct access to downtown.

Enjoy a stroll, run or bike ride through Shelby Bottoms Park located just one block from your front door. The park offers over 300 acres of wetlands and trails that run along the Cumberland River where you might catch sight of the General Jackson Showboat chugging down the river.

There is also Vinny Links golf course nearby.

On the other side of the Cumberland is the Grand Ole Opry. Take in a concert or go shopping at the Opry Mills Mall but don’t miss a walk through the spectacular atrium at the Opryland Hotel which is free and all are located within the same vicinity.

Nashville's airport is also easily accessible and less than 9 miles (approx. 16 minutes) from the guest cottage.

Great place to stay!

This little apartment was a great place to stay during our vacation to Nashville. This neighborhood is close to everything and feels so safe. It’s a great place to go for a walk or a run. We will definitely try to stay here again if it is available.

Return visit

This was our second stay in Shelby Hills. Enjoy the quiet neighborhood. Close enough to downtown to get there quickly yet far enough to get away from it too. Shelby park is only a couple blocks away and is beautiful. Cottage is a small cozy place that is ideal for a couple. Thanks Cynthia for another enjoyable stay. We’ll be back again.

Amazing property! We enjoyed East Nashville very much. Convenient to downtown Nashville and ordering an Uber was the way to go. Enjoyed the outdoor space for coffee drinking and Shelby park was a short walk away.

Cottage in the city

Within minutes from downtown. We enjoyed our stay in this little cottage. Nice new shower. Quiet. Private. It is tricky getting your car parked along fence line in alleyway. There is a main house on this property fairly close. I wouldnt recommend anymore then 2 people in this unit as it is a small space with 3 basic rooms. But overall good.

The room was rather shabby and I don’t mean shabby chic. No long mirrors to check yourself out before going to a wedding. Entry is from the alley which is gravel. as well as a gravel walkway and square stepping stones to the cottage (not good if you are dressed up, pulling luggage or getting back to the cottage after dark. Limited counter space in the bathroom. No tissues.

This property is an amazing neighborhood. Walking distance to so many good eateries. Spend one day on Nashville then move away from the city to enjoy Mother Nature. So much to do.

Great location

Great location. Plenty to do in a short distance. It was a nice clean cottage. Appreciated having a house experience rather than a hotel. Price was competitive to area hotels. Perfect size for a couple, but because of the size, it is not a place to take a family. Only drawbacks were parking in an alley, when there is a spot inside the fence. Not enough towels provided for the whole stay, but we we’re asked to not wash them. And someone walked through yard to take trash out.

A tranquil escape at a cute cottage

This cottage was a restful reprieve after exploring the city. It was the perfect size for two and gave my husband and I a "home away from home" feeling. Its obvious Cynthia is an experienced host. From the information we were given ahead of time and that which we recieved upon check-in, my husbnd and I were well informed. She was even willing to accomodate a special request which was so appreciated. I could not recommend more. Im already trying to convince my husband to buy the same couch she had in the cottage. So comfy!

Great weekend getaway

We visited for a Saturday evening concert in East Nashville. This lovely little cottage was the perfect home base for all the fun in the neighborhood. The owner was super friendly and communicative. We will be back. Can’t recommend this property enough.

A gem in East Nashville!

We loved our stay at the cozy cottage! The location was great with many restaurant options nearby, plus a great Coffee Shop/restaurant only a few minutes away. The bed was very comfortable & the amenities great! You are only 20 minutes from the Grand Old Opry and ten minutes to downtown Nashville.

The Shelby Hills cottage was a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean and inviting. Once my husband got the hang of parking along the fence, it was easy breezy! The location is PERFECT! We booked not really knowing the location of Nashville attractions, and it worked out perfectly. The cottage is a short drive to downtown as well as a short drive to the Opry, the two main attractions we wanted to see. It would be a perfect place for someone who is attending a Titans game as well. Cynthia was very patient with me as I had a few questions upon check in. When I finally read the notebook all my questions were answered! Lol. We would definitely stay in Shelby Hills cottage again.

Just perfect

So much to say about this amazing little cottage. Visited Nashville from Charleston SC for our 19 yo son’s Dixie Major World Series tournament as 11 teams from the southeast descended on Shelby Park for the first time in Nashville history. So glad we chose this cottage. Walking distance to the fields allowed us to head back between games and cool off and eat. About 10 minutes from downtown but parking was so challenging we spent most of our time finding restaurants closer to the cottage. So many great places and grocery stores within 5 minutes. Stayed 7 nights. Ate out for most meals. Kitchen has everything you need. An air fryer would be a great add to the well stocked kitchen. Owner was accessible and so helpful. Door a little tricky to open upon arrival but a quick call resolved the issue. Four stars for cleanliness only because of a couple outside observations. Grass on side of cottage was a little overgrown when we arrived that grew more during our 7 days, there were cobwebs on the wooden shelf outside the door, and some empty plastic bags had gotten inside the gate on the walkway (likely wind blown). To be honest 
 the alley parking made us a little nervous the first night when we pulled up in the dark. But owner is right. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with no issues or concerns for safety. We were so sad to leave and will stay here again if we are ever in Nashville. This is definitively a 5 star perfect getaway location. (PS 
 Our North Charleston SC Dixie Majors team won the World Series which was the perfect ending to our first vacation as empty nesters).

Pleasant stay in a pleasant cottage!

The cottage we stayed in was pleasant and clean. The neighborhood was charming, quiet, and safe. We enjoyed being close to Shelby Park. Downtown Nashville was a short drive from the property. There are so many things to do jn the surrounding area if you want to explore.

Quiet and cozy neighborhood

Cottage is very cozy and surprisingly quiet at night, when I expected air traffic and train whistle to wake me. It’s close to Shelby Park, you could actually walk to it but it would be a bit of a climb back uphill. Has most of what you need, for a short or extended stay. It’s close to downtown, and there are a lot of little neighborhood cafes, restaurants, butchers if you want to pick stuff up, or eat outside on patios. Everyone was masked where they needed to be, which was reassuring. Would stay there again.

great place for a getaway near downtown Nashville

very clean and cozy. Television was a challenge and never could get local tv and streaming password didnot work. loveseat was uncomfortable for my husband because it sat so low. the bed and pillows were comfortable. we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for 1-2 persons.
