Conveniently next to the railway station and short walk from the office I was visiting. No indication of any VIP offers nor upgrade offers which seemed strange when Expedia mentioned. Room looked tired and no double glazing windows although room was warm and tidy enough. Overall fine for short stay.

The property is clean tidy and value for money and would have been given 5 star rating however. Due to an error at the hotel I was charged twice for early checkin and parking on two seperate cards this was sorted promptly so wasn't a huge issue. But since we got home we have been charged for the room again which is now pending and made the money unavailable in my bank balance. When I called I was told it may take 5 days to sort out due again to some sort of error. In this time I am unable to use my own money which is ridiculous and wrong. No compensation offered in anyway shape or form and they weren't very sympathetic of the situation dispute it being the second time and their fault. Very disappointed in the service provided and wouldn't recommend for this reason.

One night, leisure stay.

Very central (of course), good customer service. A little tired in spots which isn't unusual for a period property like this. The twin room was in my opinion in need of some renovation and was very warm (heating stuck on). The walls also appeared quite thin which was unfortunate for us having nosy neighbours. Overall decent value for money though, so can't complain too much.

The hotel is amazing to go into, great architecture and looks good. However to access our room we had to use stairs ( which we were warned about). The room was lovely, but we were a little confused by the earplugs issued by the hotel. The curtain had fallen off the railing at the first ring so wasn't fully close able . We reported this to reception and they sent up someone who shut it to the best of their abilities. The earplugs became invaluable as we settled down to sleep. The noise of sirens, and drunks permeated through the room and then about 3am there was a loud crash as the mirror came loose from one side and hit the desk. Again we reported this to reception the next morning. If we didn't have these issues with noise and mirrors waking us up, it would have been a great stay. The breakfast in the morning was really good and the staff amazing!

Our room had blistering paint on the ceiling, black mold throughout the bathroom, a non-functioning air conditioner and refrigerator. Overall, the staff was friendly, and I’m sure that there are nice rooms, but be warned that if you are staying anywhere between rooms 218 and 245, it will not be up to par. The “spa” area is a joke at best. The sauna was cold, the jacuzzi was out of order, and the facilities are filthy. I would not recommend staying at the Royal Station Hotel. Visit the restauraunt however! Our servers Liz and Leon were lovely.

Convenient Location

I was happy with my overnight here. It's was super handy to be right beside the train station since I was in and out by train. It had everything you need. The room was a little run down with very worn carpets but that's not the end of the world. The only thing that was less than stellar was the beds. I had two single beds and one had a very very thin and uncomfortable mattress. Thankfully the other one was normal.

Tired rooms

Booked a last minute getaway. Our room was exceptionally hot, (despite the March visit) had an ask for a fan for the room as not provided. Did feel like this was an inconvenience for the staff. Room decor was tired in need of refurbishment and a good clean. Items put in the very small wardrobe came out dusty! However was a convenient location for city centre and train station.

When room was 'made up', it only consisted of emptying bin, folding a towel and adding another loo roll. Bed wss not made up. Food was good and staff friendly. Next to station and you can leave luggage afyer check out

Grand old hotel in need of a bit of TLC. Lots of stairs up to reception and from reception to first floor room. Anyone with limited mobility should ask for a room near reception. Staff were nice and very helpful.

Overnight Stay at the Royal Station Hotel

Arrived to the hotel early and they had no problem storing our suitcases until check in. All the people behind the service desk were super helpful and friendly. Even helped give us recommendations for where to eat on the evening. Went to the swimming pool twice while we stayed and was a nice amenity. The room we stayed in was a decent size and clean. Had breakfast on the morning which is a buffet and is well worth it, the variety and amount that is available is plenty and good quality too. Always enjoy when we stay here.
