We reached out to the hotel two months prior to our arrival to request an upgrade, noting both our wedding anniversary and my VIP status. While the hotel acknowledged our status, they declined the upgrade. We were very disappointed by the lack of accommodation.

The hotel is on the main promenade and has a great view of the azure coastline. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They have a great terrace bar where you can eat, drink and watch the world go by in relaxed comfort. We loved Nice and will be returning and will stay again at the Westminster Hotel, when you find somewhere nice, you go back! Thanks.

Excellent three night stay at this property. The amount of detail in the decor on each floor is incredible. Also, received a surprise upgrade to a 5th floor balcony room. Right on the beach and close to many shops/dining. Would definitely stay again.

The personal was horrible, the room had over 10 mosquitoes, the staff didn’t do anything to help, didn’t even follow up, and when i called downstairs the receptionist screamed on the phone, and lied to my face when i went downstairs. When i tried talking to them, he threatened me, saying “not sure where you are from but here in France things are different”, when trying to get his name, he refused to provide it and again threatened me and wanted to call the police. Don’t stay there!!

The architecture was very detailed, as if you were back in time. I do recommending taking the steps at times to get the full picture. The Spa is amazing, relaxing and peaceful. It was an experience of a lifetime.

Ok hotel, but dated

The Westminster may have formally been a 4 star hotel, but it is a little past it's hey day. I would give it a 3 star as it stands today. The room was clean but dated, as is the hotel overall. The pictures on hotels.com definitely made it look more modern than it truly was. You really are paying for the location on the promenade, which is a plus. We did have a slight issue with our tub where house keeping left some sort of vinegar/water mixture in the tub and forgot to drain it. It made the room smell very strongly upon our return and there was a bunch of debris sitting in the tub, which was pretty gross. An easy fix to release the tub stopper and rinse everything down, however not exactly what I want to be doing when paying this price point. Also a bit of a clarity around the laundry services would have helped. We dropped off laundry at the front desk on a Saturday, expecting return on Sunday. I asked a couple general questions and no one mentioned that the laundry was closed on Sunday and we would not receive our clothes until Monday. Not the end of the world, but a little frustrating when I intended to wear a laundered outfit the following evening. Overall, I'm sure there is an old school nostalgia for some of the patrons of this hotel, however it was not what my fiance or I imagined celebrating our engagement.

Hoping for a bit extra

Staff were great, especially the reception team and guy working the bar (forgot his name). Hotel was a little noisy due to street noise and could hear the room above walking around. Rooms were also quite small (even taking into account it was France) and for the price I just expected a little bit more. If you plan to use the Spa please remember to reserve a 1 hour time slot in advance but as per the above theme its fairly small and limited for the price. Overall we had a good time and would stay again.

Westminster was highly recommended. It's a nice hotel - with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The staff are kind. However, there is no concierge, so they try, but not very well iinformed. The hotel needs some repairs. The bath tub didn't hold water, since the stopper didn't work. The sink water didn't drain well. The coffee maker didn't work well - I had to pull out the old coffee before adding new one - or else the cover wouldn't close. Both of their emails weren't working, so I couldn't get my boarding pass printed.

Westminster Hotel & Spa was a Disaster

From the time I made the reservation last week until the time I checked out this morning, it was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered in all my years staying in luxury hotels. The Hotels.com rep was very professional and actually tried to reconcile the problems and even he was treated rudely by the Westminster Hotel reservation manager, Jaclyn. Besides difficulties with the reservation, the smelled awful when I checked in, I asked for a room change, but instead sent some cleaning person to stick an “air deodorizer” in the room that did nothing. The room’s amenities were sub par as well and the bathroom/shower more like a Motel 6, again a disgraceful experience at the Westminster Hotel & Spa
