The property got a long history with great view of Shinano River, conventional design with larger room size comparing to modern hip hotel. This was surely the best hotel in town when it opened. Showing signs of wear and tear (but so am I!), but still comfortable like an old sofa. The double room was spacious (by any standard, not just Japan), with room for a desk and chairs. Breakfast buffet was very good. Great location on the river bank. The facilities felt outdated but still fairly well maintained. Room was large and had a nice view of the Bandai bridge. Got a cold on Sado island but I had a really nice sleep back to Niigata and felt completely recharged. Super kind and attentive staff. Parking is a bit pricy at the hotel but I had no problems finding plenty of parking lots nearby.
