Have stayed at Avista Resort many times, however itâs the first time through FRBO. Condo was perfect for the two of us, plenty of room. The weather was perfect too! We were able to enjoy all the amenities of Avista without going through the resort directly. My only suggestion would be to leave guests with directions for using the television. With all the streaming options these days plus standard channel selections, it was a little frustrating to find certain channels. This however did not have a negative effect on our stay. We had a great time!!!
Couch and chair were full of sand and food crumbs, same with floors and table. 1 of the beds sheets had hair and sand all in the bed. Was advertised with a pull out coach which it didnât have. Also, there were no sheets for the Murphy bed. Maintenance man brought âcleanâ sheets at 12:30am but the smelled horrible. Only response from property manager was â sorry for the inconvenience, we will talk to the cleanersâ. Do not rent from Big Fish Properties, check their google reviews and the 50 open complaints with the BBB!!!!!
The condo was decent. It wasn't filthy, however it wasn't as clean as I would have expected. There were dirty pans in the cabinets, the coffee pot wasn't cleaned, and there was food under the table. I know they say you can call and they will have someone come clean it to your standards, but after a 10hr drive with 2 kids...you kinda just want to relax and unpack some. I cleaned it. We found out on the 3rd day that the washer in unit did not work. I ended up looking up a manual for it and figuring out the door locking mechanism was broken. I contacted the manager and she said they couldn't get the part, and wouldn't be able to be fixed. So I had to pay to use guest laundry at the resort. (Which in unit laundry was one of the biggest reasons I booked here).
We did enjoy our vacation and the resort is gorgeous...just wish our unit would have been as promised.
Our stay here was a series of unfortunate events. Arriving at front gate, there was no record of our name. Took 45 minutes to reach owner, who finally confirmed with security. She rebated us 100 for inconvenience. At property, we alerted owner immediately to minor damages: broken toilet paper roll hanger, laminate peeling away from dining table, closet doors that were off track. Next day we found a heavy sliding glass door off track we couldnât close. Owner arranged repairman for following evening. Before he could arrive, we woke at 3am to smoke detectors beeping throughout house. After my husband disconnected each,we awoke to find AC had stopped working entirely. We explained all concerns to repairman who was to return following day to complete AC repair. After another sleepless night without AC, owner offered full refund if we wanted to vacate property. But where to go now that itâs midweek? Amid these issues, we got a parking ticket from security because the pass provided at gate was incomplete. Took 5 trips between gate & main office to remedy. Fortunately, AC was fixed and we stayed. Given the events after we finally entered the gate, the cost of our rental exceeded the enjoyment. Perhaps a further credit would have been warranted under the circumstances.
We were very excited to stay beachfront! The view was beautiful from the balcony. It was windy all week making powerful waves but also cool evenings to enjoy the short walk to Main Streetâs shops. All staff was very courteous, so we enjoyed the resortâs pools, restaurant and lounge. The unit could use an update as some things did not live up to the photos. However, the price was reasonable so one could expect that the cost per night might increase upon putting in new mattresses and furniture. Additionally, it was not a bad drive to Myrtle Beach on our outing day as there are plenty of places to do family activities- just be prepared to spend some cash!
