There are glorious sandy beaches of Sea Palling and Waxham, and the surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities to refuel with many pubs (from traditional inns to award-winning fine dining). The bustling market town of North Walsham is 7 miles and smaller market town of Stalham is 3 miles for supermarkets, eateries, and shops. Nearby attractions include many National Trust properties such as Blickling and Felbrigg Halls and Horsey Windpump.

The traditional seaside resort of Cromer is 16 miles with a promenade and pier, and Sheringham is 21 miles, home to the North Norfolk Steam Railway.
