Perfect Beach House!! Rare beach and canal(ICW) access


Time to sit back and relax at Casa Tortuga. Recently updated. Kayaks and Bikes included with rental. Deposit required Kayaks(check with owner).

Hardwood floors throughout. Come and enjoy some time in the sun and the surf on one of Oak Island’s beautiful beaches located a few steps away. Our house has everything you and your family need for a relaxing vacation. It has beautiful sunset views from front porch. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage on the screened in rear porch. We have comfortable living room furniture with a flat screen t.v. and enough seating for all guests. The tv in the living room includes Hulu live Tv(for basic cable) and XM provided, streaming Apps(Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc) and is Apple AirPlay compatible to stream music/video from an Apple device. The kitchen has all the necessary kitchen utensils and supplies. There is a washer and dryer for keeping those beach towels clean and cleaning any clothes during your stay.. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Shower only in master and Tube/Shower combination in shared bathroom. There is 1 king bed, 1 queen bed and two bunk beds(4 twin beds). Perfect for 1 or 2 families. There are TVs in each bedroom. Hulu Live Tv is provided(for basic cable) and all TVs can stream video your favorite apps. Similar to the living room the TV in the master bedroom has Hulu Live and XM provided, Streaming Apps(Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc) and is Apple AirPlay compatible to stream music/video from an Apple device.

Our house has everything you need to make you feel at home. TV, Fiber High Speed Internet(The internet here is awesome), new appliances, small appliances, and lots of pots and pans along with basic cooking ingredients. When you arrive there will be all things to make your stay easier - Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap washing detergent, dishwasher detergent, coffee and coffee filters. There are ceiling fans in all rooms. There is a beach cart along with beach chairs, toys and umbrellas for your use during your stay.

There are only 3 streets on OKI with canal AND beach access and the house is located on one of them. The house is located within walking distance to the beach just steps away, and you can access the Davis Canal from our street the house. You can launch Kayaks and Standup Paddleboards(SUP) from the Davis canal access at the end of the street. Rental of our house includes all of the beach supplies listed, 2 kayaks and 5 bikes. A deposit is required for the Kayaks. Inquire more with the owner.

Just up the road there are multiple food stores, miniature golf, restaurants golf at the Oak Island Country Club 5 miles from house.

LINENS(Bedsheets and towels) ARE INCLUDED. You need to being your own beach towels.

Comforters/Blankets and pillows are provided.

NO PETS and NO SMOKING allowed!

If you have an electric vehicle please let the owner know so appropriate accommodations can be made. The outlets under the house are not setup to charge electric vehicles.

Primary guest must be 25 years or older.

No parties allowed. Guest will be removed if a party is discovered on premises.

4th of July vacation

Had a wonderful week celebrating the 4th at Casa Tortuga! The house had everything we needed, and we especially appreciated the organization and attention to detail -ie. Every light switch and kitchen cabinets were labeled. The beach cart and bikes came in handy traveling to/from the beach, which is a short and scenic walk. Would highly recommend this rental and Chris was very responsive and attentive. Would love to come back to this beautiful home!

Wonderful week!

An absolute gem of a property! The location is key with a lovely walk to the beach. The house is clean and spacious. We especially enjoyed the front porch in the mornings and evenings on the screened in back porch. Host was prompt to respond to any questions and offered great recs! Perfect Family stay

This house was perfect for our family vacation. We had a 4 year old and 10 month old and 4 adults. We had everything we need highchair play pen, We had all the beach items we needed wagon umbrella and sand toys The walk to the beach was short. Kayaks and Bikes were also great to have. Just get in the car and don’t worry about packing too much they have it all.

The house has a nice open living room to hang out. I appreciated the beach cart to get everything to the beach. The walk is a little far but doable and you can drive over. I liked it for my teens because they could come and go. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The checkout list is also very minimal.

Clean house, responsive host

We enjoyed our stay at casa tortuga. Chris was very attentive and accessible. Unfortunately came at a time when the weather was cold and windy so we didn’t get to use kayaks or go to the beach much. The kayaks are the sit on top kind. Enjoyed watching wildlife at the canal. The distance to both the beach and the ICW were a little further than i thought. Like if someone wants to go back to the house to use the restroom it’s a bit of a hike from the beach. Just fyi for small kids. It was a good stay, oak island and the area are really cute, I’d never been before.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at Casa Tortuga. The house was very clean and well stocked. Bicycles provided were a plus! The owner communicated with us to make sure everything was going well with our stay.

Very nice property; well maintained; bikes and beach chairs, wagon, umbrella available. For streaming Hulu available. Host responded quickly when messaged. Neighborhood quiet; enjoyed boardwalk over inter coastal and not a long walk to beach. Liked island Jo’s for coffee and sandwiches. Southport quaint; some nice restaurants and shops. Bald head island very nice; recommend golfcart. People of oak island seemed very nice. Caswell beach is nice. Enjoyed our stay.

Perfect October Beach Get-a-Way

Our family of four adults had a delightful four night stay at this property. We spent our time enjoying long, lazy days at the beach, eating take-out, bike riding, kite flying, playing games, and relaxing. The house is beautiful, spacious, nicely laid out, and had everything we needed. The location is wonderful. There are nearby eateries and grocery stores. We enjoyed the pretty walk to and from the beach. The large wagon makes it easy to haul beach supplies. The host, Chris, is attentive and communicates well. Thank you for everything! We would love to stay at your property again.

Amazing stay!

Our family loved staying here! The layout of the house was perfect for everyone to have their own space. Bathrooms are very spacious. Washer and dryer worked very quickly; my kids LOVED the outside shower (we’re not fans of leftover sand). Kitchen was well stocked and organized, the back porch has a HUGE table and benches for family meals. Beach was a very short walk away. Everything you need for the beach was included in the shed at the back of the house, other than food and towels of course. We will be booking again for sure!

Excellent beach house with everything you need

We had a great time at Casa Tortuga. The house is on a quiet dead end road. It's also directly on a public beach access streeet...takes 7-10 mins to walk to the beach depending on how speedy you are. The owner kindly lets you use the beach chairs, umbrella, bikes, wagon,kayaks, and the gas grill. We loved sitting on the screened-in porch. The entire house is very organized and labeled so you know where to find absolutely everything and you know which light switch operates which light.

Great house and location close to beach

The house has a great location. It is an easy 10 min walk to the beach. My family thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent at the house. Everything you need for your stay is provided, from laundry detergent pods to a big wagon to transport your beach gear. Beach was not crowded and neighborhood is very quiet. Chris was great at communicating and check in was very smooth. Would definitely stay at this house if we come to Oak Island again.

Great vacay at OKI

Loved having the master room off the laundry room and away from the other rooms, for a little bit of peace :) Walk was hot (it was July after all) but totally manageable, especially with a beach wagon (we brought our own, and also used Chris's when we had a larger load). The outdoor shower was maybe one of my favorite features, especially after a hot walk, and to make sure all the sand stayed outside where it belonged! House was very well-stocked (beyond any other rental I've stayed at) and that made it much easier for our arrival. Chris was very fast in any communication. Thanks!

Comfortable beach vacay

My family and I (8 of us) enjoyed the 10 min walk to the ocean each day. We looked at the crabs in the marsh on the way. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely with newer looking family homes and old trees. The homeowner was pleasant and available via text. The bicycles could use a little fine tuning. The beach umbrella was missing a part (which we found the day we left). And 2 of the boogie boards were broken. The homeowner was unaware of these issues and plans to take care of them in another week or so. We used the wagon every day to haul our stuff to the beach. The kids took several bike rides around the island. We brought our own bike for our 7 yr old since the bikes provided were for bigger people. We played putt putt twice, which was a blast. We cooked on the grill twice. The kitchen was adequately furnished. It was nice that previous renters had left condiments in the fridge. There was also toilet paper, paper towels, and detergents so we didn't have to run out to the store right away. The entrance to the spacious master bedroom is at the back of the house so I could retreat to my room when I needed some down time. I relaxed on the back porch a lot and enjoyed the rockers on the front porch. The kids were able to sign into our Netflix account and watch movies when they wanted to. We did one puzzle and played connect four. The house decor is calming and beachy. I would stay in this house again.

Great vacation!

Area is a really nice and quiet vacation area. The house itself is on a quiet street but has great access to the waterway and beach. House has lots of extras like the things you need for the beach. Just take beach towels from home with you. Loved the bikes to use too! House is very clean and great spaces for adults and teens to spread out. We loved the screened in back porch. Would recommend this house to anyone! Owner was attentive and texted us right back when we had a question.

Family Vacation

We had a great stay at Oak Island. This house was exactly what we needed. Clean, quiet, and fully stocked with all things needed for daily walks to the beach. Look forward to staying again in the future.

Great short stay

Stayed here for a quick anniversary getaway with my husband and another couple. House was just as advertised. And just as others have said the walk down to the beach from the house is almost or as enjoyable as the actual beach. Wish we could have stayed longer. Communication from owner was great. It was wonderful to have the supplies needed already at the home so as to not have to buy a bunch of paper products, etc for such a short stay (Friday afternoon through Sunday morning). Very simple check out process as well. Overall great stay. Thanks!

Great house!

We had a great time at Casa Tortuga! The location is convenient to the beach and ICW and to shops and restaurants! We especially enjoyed having the bikes there to ride. The home is tastefully decorated and very clean. We would definitely stay here again!
