Beautiful new House in the Jalatlaco neighborhood near the city center of Oaxaca
A beautiful new house with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with refrigerator, toaster, micro wave, coffee maker and kitchen utensils. The house has 2 and a half bathrooms, a large dining room, living room, office and a beautiful terrace and garden full of flowers.
The house is decorated with paintings by Oaxacan artists. And the furniture was made by local atersans. The house has a bicycle available for use in case you need it. Maid service is done twice a week and the laundry is located one block from the house.
It has wifi, hot water, clean sheets and a cleaning kit included. The house is located in one of the typical and most beautiful areas of the city of Oaxaca.

Too much noise
A carnival was set up literally on the doorstep of this rent with horrendous noise from 3 pm to midnight...literally felt the earth shake under my feet/the host was very helpful except for not disclosing this carnival which is obviously a yearly event with day of the dead/we paid a premium price was a house that was unbearable to be in after 3pm/if the location had been clearly revealed i would not have chosen this house for dia del los muertos...it would be fine if there was not a bumper car and ferris wheel on the doorstep/i am totally angry about the instant book and charge feature that vrbo had on this property which i had never encountered before...this whole experience has been my worst vrbo rental and will make me less likely to use vrbo on the future/the beds in the 3rd bedroom were very uncomfortable and we had to go purchase bedding/earplugs were a futile measure against the noise level we suffered...felt like a zombie after my stay...did not need costume to participate in day of dead!
Great owner. Very attentive and helpful. Short cab ride or 15 minute walk to Centro. 4 blocks to Merced Market. Needs screens as there is no air conditioning. Would stay there
Wonderful place, spacious, well-decorated, comfortable, quiet. The roof top terrace was a plus. The bathrooms had many products. House well situated, a 20 minute walk to Centro Historico. Moises was a very generous and helpful host. He answered our questions quickly. He arranged taxis to town and the airport. There was food (bread, cereal, fruits, yoghurt) and drink (water, juices, milk) available. A well equipped kitchen if you want to cook. We will return.
We enjoyed our two week stay in Oaxaca in February 2019 in this comfortable modern home located in the neighborhood of Jalatlaco, about a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from the Cathedral and the Zocalo.
The house is spacious with a large living-dining room and kitchen, downstairs "office", and half bath. Upstairs are three bedrooms and two full baths with walk-in showers. Everything was very clean and neat. The owner, Moises Bailon, was very considerate in stocking the refrigerator with beers and other beverages.
There is no dishwasher in the kitchen but, honestly, we didn't miss it much. Oaxaca has so many excellent restaurants - although we didn't find any in the immediate neighborhood that we could walk to - that we went out most evenings bringing back leftovers to warm up in the house's microwave. Taxis, by the way, are inexpensive so it was easy to zip around to restaurants and to sights closer to the center of town.
There is a roof terrace with table and chairs where we enjoyed views of the surrounding mountains.
The one thing we wish this house had is a washer/dryer. However, there is a laundry about a half block away where clothes can be dropped off and picked up later the same day for a very reasonable charge.
The house is in a relatively quiet area and we were not disturbed either by neighbors or street traffic.
All in all, this is a good bet for a Oaxaca rental if you want space and privacy.
This a comfortable and spacious place. We particularly enjoyed the roof deck. Lots of Dios de los Muertos energy on our street due to a carnival with rides and games on our street, which leads to the cemetery. This was generally fun and also a bit chaotic. Location is a 20-30 minute walk or a cab ride to Centro. Our host was most helpful, and we were happy and surprised by the high level of housecleaning he provided.
Best experience ever Moises was great
Send me information on taxi also restaurants the house was new and clean
He also provide us with water cereal fresh flowers. This property is located close to everything walking distance to church and the Quinta Real is only 10 blocks away
I call Moises for the water heater
And he was there in 10 minutes
Better that a top rated hotel
We spent six weeks in this wonderful house. It was our second stay in Oaxaca, and Moises was a great help in suggesting impromptu ideas to explore the city and recommended a great taxi service.
The house itself is extremely comfortable, super clean. The rooftop is the perfect place to view the mountain range change colors, and enjoy the breeze. The neighborhood is quiet, taxus are abundant, the 2 shops fown the street are very friendly. Our only regrets .... we had to leave. We would love to go back. And our guests equally enjoyed their stay. Thank you, Moises.
The house is located slightly outside the main part of town, about 15 minutes walk. Cab rides are $50 MXN from anywhere in the city, one way. The house is very clean, three bedrooms, simple furnishings and linens. There is a kitchen with appliances but limited cooking supplies. There is a little bit of street noise in one of the rooms, so bring earplugs if a light sleeper. There is an occasional barking dog that is less of an issue with the windows closed. 3 bedrooms, an office, and living room, 2 stories. Everything is brand new. No air condition and it can get quite warm in the summer (80's inside the house). Ever room has a nice new fan. Good value and very safe/secure. Moises is available to respond to any issues. Thank you.
