We enjoyed our stay here very much. Our kids were very excited because the room was very large. I had a great night's sleep - I hope to stay longer next time. The bath was great, too. I used to live in this area, so it was really great to be back in the local area. It was also great to stay in a very authentic Japanese area, a much more interesting experience for my family than staying in a hotel. Also, there is a great beach area about 15 minutes away on foot.
This guest house was an excellent choice for me and my friends as we were visiting the town to see friends who live locally. So in that regard the location was perfect. This is by no means a regular western style hotel. It is Japanese style. Where you sleep on futons on the floor. It has the feeling that you’re staying in someone’s house. Except there is no host living with you. It has all the necessary amenities and the care taker was extremely friendly and accommodating! Only a short stroll to the Tannowa train station. We had plans to meet friends in the local area. But if you are looking for something to do there is a theme park / zoo only 1 stop from Tannowa station. We had a great time staying here and would definitely recommend to others.
Overall very pleased with this place. We traveled with (3) kids and this place had WAY more space than a traditional hotel room. Each family member had their own futon mattress with warm blankets during a cold December. The location was tucked away from main roads, but close to the ocean. The house had a kutatsu(think electric blanket, but for a table), which the family loved. The Japanese style bathroom worked well for a family of 5 getting ready in the morning because everything was in separate rooms. We spent our vacation traveling to Osaka, Kobe, and some other cities in the area by car; this location was close enough to make that happen. The guest House was taken care of by a sweet Japanese lady who was very kind to my children. She cleaned everyday and scheduled herself to be there for check in and out (the actual house seems vacant). Lastly, the price was the biggest reason I took a chance on this place and it was worth it. This cost half as much as a hotel in Osaka would, but the large space and free parking made it more valuable than a downtown location.
