Hotel Bastin was perfectly close located to tte dock of our cruise ship. Walking to the opera house and Christmas market was all an easy walk. Tte moment we entered the hotel we felt welcomed. The breakfast has a wide variety of food, all delicious! Dinner and afternoon Fika we enjoyed very much in a home atmosphere, sitting on tables next to the fireplace was so inviting during cold winter days. Would book it again!

This hotel was great! Staff was super friendly a d helpful. They had a locking luggage storage closet. There was also a bunch of lighting in the room which is great! Most hotels I stay at nowadays you can barely see in. I would definitely stay here again!

The neighborhood will be changing in the upcoming years. Currently industrial, with construction across the street and lots of empty warehouses. The streets above have fancy coffee shops and stores - and the hotel is in walking distance to everything and the central train station. Very quiet area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a casual, low key, not fancy hotel with basic comforts (including a small gym and saunas). The staff in the buffet area stood out for their attentive care.

Rooms were compact but still clean and equipped with necessities. Walking distance to station, opera house, Akershus fortress. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of hot and cold dishes and after a day of walking around Oslo we found the included dinner buffet was great. It was good basic home cooked food, usually a hot dish and vegetables, and a good assortment of salads. Given the price of food in Oslo this hotel offers a good deal with breakfast and dinner included, and even an afternoon sweet treat!

Spot on in the heart of Oslo

This location cannot be beat. The rooms are a bit small, but the beds are super comfy, and the bathroom is clean and efficient. Love that water pressure!! The included dinner (different every night) and breakfast (European style) makes life very easy and economical. A touch of old world hospitality (think Italian pensionne of the 30s) with a killer coffee machine that is free and always available. Brilliant place to stay.
