Very cute little hotel within 5 min walk to ByWard Market. Loved the art work, the cute balconies and the area in general. Bedding and beds were just ok. Staff was great and very accommodating.

It’s a Gem!

We enjoy staying at this small hotel situated in a great location downtown Ottawa just steps from a happening Dalhousie Street and a hop, skip and a jump from Byward Market. No problem with parking which is about 50 feet away from the hotel in a covered self-parking lot. There is a small parking fee per day and does not have in/out privileges. However, the hotel does have its own underground parking below the hotel but it has a limited amount of parking spaces for guests. I think there are 10 parking spaces. When you book, indicate that you need parking. I’d go so far as to contact the hotel directly and inform them of this. It’s a first come first serve type of situation. We’ve stayed at this hotel several times and only once have we been able to secure the hotel parking but like I said, there is plenty of parking a few doors down the street. Lobby- clean, small and welcoming Check-In: Quick and friendly service Staff: friendly, knowledgeable, professional Breakfast- delicious, plentiful with a nice selection of fresh croissants, breads, muffins, fruit, yogurts, cereals, juices, coffee selection of teas and hot foods (scrambled & hard boiled eggs, breakfast meat and seasoned potato wedges. Room- we’ve had the opportunity to stay in different rooms. They were all comfortable, clean and small. However, the size of the rooms didn’t matter to us because we basically just slept there and when we were there to “hang out” we made good use of our balcony that faced the courtyard.

They do have parking available but the entrance driveway and the spots are ridiculously narrow. I suggest parking in the public lot right next door. We liked the hotel - great location. The rooms are old but have all the advertised amenities and it was clean when we arrived. We spent three night there and our room was never cleaned during our stay even though, on the second morning we specifically requested that it be cleaned.

The room was clean and had lots of amenities like wine glasses and a coffee maker. The breakfast was good. We saw many homeless people and drug users in the area around The Byward Market which made us feel unsafe.

The property offers quaint and comfortable accommodations. The location is very convenient and walkable to most sites. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The room was great, balcony, kitchenette. The Inn is simple in it's presentation, nothing flashy. But it's safe, clean and quiet. I prefer it over commercial hotels. Oh and the breakfast/ dining area was great

Excellent stay

Fantastic little hotel right by all the action of the Byward market. We were visiting friends and being centrally located was key. The hotel is well taken care of and rooms are well equipped. This was our first hotel stay with our baby and there was plenty of space for all our belongings for a 4-night stay.

Location, location, location. Two blocks to the National Art Gallery, right next to Byward Market. Walking distance to to pretty much all the venues. Major Hill park, Rideau Canal and locks. The breakfast was good, plentiful, simple and well made. Staff were friendly and excellent. There was no down side to this hotel. Public parking garage right next door and reasonable about 34 dollars for two half days and one full day.

We had a great experience at Byward Blue Inn. 4* for cleanliness, small food area, there was not a big variety of breakfast but, food was always fresh. Overall the price vs quality was 4*.
