Ocean view was nice. The property is showing signs of age and poor upkeep. Rooms were not that clean and staff we dealt with were not very professional in customer service or attire .

Be cautious about staying here!!! The staff is not very friendly at all. I called before making reservations to make sure there were private balconies because this is one of the most important things. My son has Asperger‘s. He doesn’t like being around many people but he loves sitting and just watching the ocean. We get there there are not private balconies at the hotel. Hotel guest can only use 1 of the 2 pools and the breakfast is not free, not even coffee. Ice isn’t even free here! My mom had a bad fall there and the staff wouldn’t even call for an ambulance or give me the address they said use my cell. Be careful! I couldn’t even walk out after dark without people whistling and yelling at me. Went out for a charger after dark and never felt so unsafe. Parking lot is dark and you have to walk down a dark street if you’re not in a parking spot by noon!!! Never again! And of course a manager was never available! If you’re on the 1st floor you can’t see the ocean because of the sand dunes, 2nd floor palm trees block your view! The Rusty Anchor was never open. The pool was decent but trash left everywhere from the day before. No housekeeping. However we did see the housecleaning crew on the floors cleaning check out rooms and they were nice!! They were the only ones. Front desks act like your a burden to even check in. Oh and check in can be anywhere from 4pm till midnight! Front desk always says the manager is out.

Poor service

The hotel is old, which is fine. I expect that and unless you’re gonna pay a ton of money to stay at a hotel on the beach, this is what you’re gonna get and I understand that. However, it could still be clean, free of cockroaches and the staff could still be friendly. Well, we were not able to check in early, again I understand, but it does say 4 o’clock check in but then the lady at the desk very rude told me you’re guaranteed check-in at 6 o’clock and you’ll be lucky to get that. Would not stay here again.

Our whole experience was simply dreadful. They promote this location as if it were the Palace of the Gods. But when you arrive, it is far from what is advertised. I simply cannot, and would not, ever recommend anyone stay at the Boardwalk Beach Hotel on South Thomas Drive! This has been the worst hotel experience I have ever had in all my years coming to Panama City Beach, Florida! 1-Star for the live music and the housekeeping staff was on point!

Our bathroom was less than up to par. The bathtub felt like it was going to fall in and the wall was seperating from the tub so water was filling up under it. Our lightbulb in the shower/tub area was out. Our room keys didnt work all of the time. And the pool near our poolside room was closed. I really hate seeing this resort go down like it has.

They do not have enough parking and the overflow is about a half mile walk way. Staff and security were all extremely rude. The girl at the front desk when I was checking out was the only nice staff I interacted with the whole weekend. I fell on the sidewalk in front of the property and they did not have a first aid kit on the property. They said all they could do was call an ambulance and they were so nasty about the situation. We noticed the pool was closed before the afternoon was over on Saturday which made for a lot of angry patrons. We were there for the ocean so it didn’t affect us plus the pool was cloudy so we weren’t going in. The rooms are very dated - tiny tv, broken chest of drawers, toilet leaked. We were told we were getting a 2 queen bed room and at most the beds were full. Definitely going back to PCB and definitely never staying here again.

I liked the bunk beds in the room. It could have been cleaner. We had to vehicles, but only one could be parked on the property the other had to be parked at another location about two blocks away, didn’t love that. Overall it was decent.
