Vineyard cottage, 30 minutes to Florence

VISTA bungalow has a bright open plan layout in modern, rustic style. It is peaceful here. Overlooking the gorgeous Chianti Rufina vineyards of the Castello di Nipozzano estate, it is difficult to believe we are just 30 minutes from central Florence. You would not even know the busy town of Pontassieve is nearby. Hop on a train from Pontassieve and you will be in Florence in 25 minutes.
This is a genuinely rustic location! You need a car to stay here. Be prepared to drive a 1km farm road through the vineyards to reach the property.
You will rewarded with lovely views and a peaceful location. This makes a great base for visiting Tuscany. And the prestigious Castello di Nipozzano is within walking distance for winetastings in an unforgettable Tuscan setting.

Great Tuscany Experience
Jane and her wonderful husband were so accommodating. They were a wealth of information of places to go & see and where to eat. Their place is in a beautiful location which gives you the true Tuscan experience. Jane arranged for us us to have the most wonderful wine tasting at the Frescobaldi winery. Because Jane knew we were arriving from a long flight from Canada she offered to get us supplies beforehand so that we would have something to eat and not have to go grocery shopping upon arrival. Their home is surrounded by gardens which they grow their own herbs which they told us to help ourselves to. Everything in their listing was as stated and even more. If we could give more than a five star rating we would. When we visit Tuscany again we will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for making our Tuscany experience one of the best. Relaxing winter getaway
Incredibly picturesque property with all the modern amenities we needed along with comfortable, clean bedding. Even in the winter, the hillside vineyard views from the villa are beautiful and the property is well-maintained. It's location allowed us to easily get to the city while still having access to our car to explore the more rural parts of Tuscany for day trips. It was our first visit to Italy and we could not have had better hosts. Jane and Giampero were very sweet and incredibly knowledgable of the area. They provided great recommendations locally and in the wider Tuscan region. Jane provided thorough descriptions of how to access the property and was available when we had any questions. Would love to come back when the olive trees and vineyards are in peak season!

Amazing time in Tuscany country!
My wife and I booked this amazing property for our first visit to Europe. It was fantastic! Beautiful landscapes of the Tuscany country side, easy access to all the major cities surrounding and Italian hospitality.

Perfect Tuscan holiday
We stayed in the ‘Vista’ property. The first thing to say straight away, is that the hosts Jane and Giampiero are really welcoming and helpful. Jane’s communication with guests is exceptional and should not be underestimated. We made some alterations to our plans and Jane dealt with them with ease. Good communication really became important on our arrival day. We took a flight which landed in the evening and we knew we would be arriving at the property fairly late. Due to flight delays and chaos at the car rental office, we set off from Florence airport much later than planned. We maintained contact with Jane and followed her (brilliant) directions to the house without any problems, but arrived very late and very tired. Jane met us and gave us a quick run through of everything. We had also taken advantage of Jane’s offer of getting groceries for us and we are so glad we did. It was Sunday the following day, we had plans and we knew we wouldn’t be able to get anything. If you are on a late or Sunday flight I would absolutely recommend you take up Jane’s offer! We were due to go to the Moto GP the following morning at Mugello and had to take an early train. Jane very kindly offered to meet us early the next morning and show us to the station and where to park our car. She also helped getting the tickets. This was really helpful because we were still only just finding our feet from the night before! Vista is a lovely property. We are fully in agreement with all the previous reviews about the views and the relaxing location. Simply stunning. We specifically chose Vista because it has a ‘full’ kitchen. We like to cook and it has everything you need. We had anticipated the rural position and the fact that in most cases you will need your car to visit restaurants etc. so we chose to eat lunch out using the car during the day and then prepare and eat dinner at home in the evening. We could enjoy a few glasses of delicious wine, sitting on the terrace, without worrying about driving. This is worth considering (unless you don’t drink of course!). The property was spotlessly clean and the bed (which is huge), bed linen and towels are very good quality. Everything you need is in there, including a selection of wines from the local winery, which are available to buy (they are really good too). Jasmine the dog and Peggy the cat are really friendly and funny and gave us a lot of entertainment!

Amazing stay.
Our accommodations were perfect with every little detail taken care of. The view over the vineyards and location of the property made for a restful and relaxing holiday. Our hosts were very gracious, helpful, kind and eager to help with advice, reservations or whatever we needed. We felt very much at home and the stay exceeded our expectations. Jane's suggestions for restaurants, walks, sightseeing, ice cream, supermarkets etc. were spot on. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Lovely stay in the Tuscan countryside
Simple, but comfortable accommodation only a short drive from the nearest town of Pontassieve , with excellent rail links to Florence and Arezzo. Very helpful and friendly owners who live on site and who will willingly help with directions, booking tickets and even shopping for supplies before you arrive. They couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Thank you.

An easy 5 star
A beautiful place to relax in the countryside of Tuscany, or use as a base camp as we did. It’s located just outside of Florence with easy rail access. Be warned, you will need a car. And you will need to follow the host instructions to the letter. Google will fail you with a false route. Our host were very knowledgeable, and provided a lot of useful information about our planned excursions. We stayed at “The Vista” which has an amazing view across the vineyards and valley below. The road is a dead end, so the only traffic will be from the host and people staying there. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who has severe mobility issues, there is a step over at the threshold, and a hill. Our host were great, providing us with fresh fruits and vegetables from their own trees and plants during our stay. And welcome advise on local food selections. Utilize the knowledge of the host to make the best of your day trips. Don’t just wing it, especially if you haven’t made a specific plan. They’re combined knowledge spreads well beyond the local area. There is an additional fee for excessive use of electricity. But this shouldn’t be an issue with anyone, except those that run the AC 24/7. The host are wonderful, and the location is well worth the cost. We plan to visit again in the future, and can’t wait to return to this great location. David & Leigh

Everything is excellent about the accommodation, region and experience.
I am already looking for a return trip. Excellent spot for relaxing, hiking, exploring. Vista is brilliant and appropriately named. Absolutely adored the evenings on the veranda, eating local produce and drinking the wine. This has been a fantastic bucket list encounter and we will definitely be back to walk more trails and visit more of the surrounding area x

Beautiful location with wonderful hosts
I had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage on a vineyard. It was much more than I expected and fulfilled a Tuscan dream. You could not ask for better hosts!
