The location was ideal for staying near the water, shops and restaurants. The home was clean but the sliding doors on the bathrooms were terrible. They were hard to shut so probably needs some greasing of some sort. The family enjoyed the pool area. We were a party of 10 and could not sit comfortably together for meals as the one table only seated 6 but otherwise the kitchen was stocked with all the amenities we needed.
Beautiful home my mother loved it amazing home I only had an issue with rooms downstairs need carpet cleaning. But it didnât take away from everything else family enjoyed it to for my mother 70th. Thanks
Zero stars. We asked for compensation for the reasons below and heard nothing from the management company. During our stay, we encountered the following issues:âąGerman Cockroach infestation in the kitchen â we killed at least seven live roaches, including in the silverware drawer and pantry. And saw several more. âąBees actively nesting in the wood chairs on the deck, making outdoor use unsafe.âąPool filter not functioning, along with broken pool tiles along the edge.âąWood decking in need of repair with broken boards which was a safety hazard. Decking was covered in black mold and in need of pressure washing. âąCarpet stained and excessively worn.âąWine fridge not working.âąNo dish towels provided. These conditions were not reflected in the photos or description of the property online, and they fell well short of reasonable expectations for a rental at this price point. The health and safety concernsâparticularly the infestation of German cockroaches, bees, unsafe decking, and pool hazardsâwere especially concerning.
The first day we arrived, the pool was filthy. Bugs, grass cuttings, and rocks were in the pool. We spent almost an hour the first night netting out what we could. I contacted the host and asked if they could have someone out to clean the pool and check on the pump which wasnât running. Whoever they sent just threw the vacuum in the pool, which never actually ran or sucked up any debris. We specifically rented this house because it had a pool & with the amount we paid for the rental, I expected it to be kept up. On top of that, the kitchen is infested with German roaches. The first night I killed one in the ice tray. The second night after dinner, we opened the dishwasher to load it and 5-6 roaches ran out of it. The more we looked around in the kitchen, the more roaches we found- counters, cabinets, everywhere. The tub in the master bathroom had so much soap scum and mildew, it was disgusting. They also mean what they say when they leave one days worth of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. The roll of paper towel had a handful of sheets on the roll, the soap pumps were literally empty, toilet paper rolls basically useless. Clearly they just leave behind whatever the previous guests didnât finish using. Thankfully we brought our own, but Iâve never stayed in a rental who used that method. Overall, we will NOT be booking with Pensacola beach properties again.
I came to Pensacola Beach with family and friends to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday in the sun. This house is amazing! Exactly as advertised. Walking distance to Peg Leg Pete's and Tom Thumb and the beach. We took advantage of all of it. The pool was too cold to get in, but still a beautiful view. We hope to come back some time.
This is a nice house in a great spot, but it was lacking some basic necessities and had technical issues.
As soon as I arrived, I discovered a major leak in the fridge. The water from the filtration system was pouring onto the kitchen floor, down the hallway and into the basement. I had to call maintenance to come fix. Dishwasher in the kitchen is outdated and needs fixing too. Porch lights did not turn on, so we had to grill steaks in the dark. Other little things broke too but we could fix them ourselves, including one toilet not flushing and a toilet paper holder falling off the wall.
The house was also barely stocked with necessities. There was only 1 roll of TP for every bathroom, very tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner and not much else (which were missing from the master bath). One pod for the washer, two pods for the dishwasher. Needs more towels too. Felt very stingy for a house of 8 adults over 4 days paying thousands of dollars.
Lastly, communication with the management company was difficult. The VRBO customer service was different from the local rental company, so I had to repeat all concerns twice to separate people.
Improving these areas would make it a better property.
Our first time in Pensacola Beach and we were satisfied with the stay. The house was great, exactly as advertised!! We rented a golf cart to help our crew get to and from the beach. The pool was a little disappointing. I called property management when we checked in because of the debris in the pool and they promised to get back to me but never did (not sure what their responsibility is for the pool). Also had an issue with front door lock which property management DID immediately respond to. We had seven adults and one 3 year old and there was plenty of room. Kitchen was great and so was living area. A small concern for us was the boat dock area was not fenced off and we had to be on constant lookout with the child. Otherwise, it was great!
Absolutely amazing and beautiful home and pool. It was within easy walking distance to the beach and Peg Leg Petes. Definitely would recommend and look forward to coming back next year!
