Two bedroom barn conversion in the Cotswolds - The Byres

The Byres is a lovingly refurbished ground floor barn conversion which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with two bathrooms. With light flowing through the expansive windows and muted interior tones, one can't help but start to relax. The open plan living space is lying in wait to welcome guests in need of a well-deserved break; it is the perfect setting to rustle up a meal in the kitchen with the accompaniment of the breakfast bar and seating area, a great space to enjoy with friends and family. The Byres also welcomes one dog!

Accommodation
This two bedroom holiday cottage in Elmley Castle is a wonderful property to spend time with friends or family. With underfloor heating throughout, this single storey accommodation is laid out as follows:

Kitchen/sitting/dining room
Open plan layout with electric oven and induction hob, Tassimo coffee machine, cafetiere, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, DAB/Bluetooth radio, washing machine/tumble dryer, breakfast bar with seating for two and dining table with seating for four
Sitting area with two-seater sofa, two armchairs, chest of drawers, LG Smart TV with apps (account holders only), and access to back garden

Primary bedroom with ensuite (Sleeps 2)
Exposed beams, double bed, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe, picture window and wall mirror
Ensuite with bath with overhead shower attachment, loo, heated towel rail and basin

Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2)
Two single beds (which can be pushed together to make a super king on request, though not zip locked), chest of drawers, chair, hooks and wall mirror

Walk-in rainfall shower with separate handheld shower attachment, loo, basin, heated towel rail and mirror

Enclosed garden mostly laid to lawn with patio, outdoor table with seating for four and charcoal BBQ

The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional infant (aged 2 or under)
Bed linen and towels are provided (duvets and pillows are hypoallergenic)
Off street parking is available for up to 2 cars
Electric charging point available on request for £35 per car per charge
1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided)

Fantastic Stay

A brilliant home for exploring the Cotswolds. Sam was a great host and very responsive, answering our questions before and during our stay. The house has everything you could imagine, and the welcome pack was a huge plus. The large enclosed garden we brilliant - our dog and toddler both enjoyed running around. There was an added benefit of an EV charger giving us peace of mind we could charge up when needed. We would love to return again in the future.

We will be back

From the moment we stepped through the door it felt like home from home . Everything you needed was provided and of good quality . The beds were super comfy and the bedding was top quality. We loved what Sam had done with the bed throws . The only small improvement we could think of was the addition of a full length mirror . We have been to many holiday places over the years and The Byres is at the top of that list . We really hope to be able to come back again .

Christmas break

Absolutely fantastic stay for the Christmas period!!! The most comfortable we have ever been during a cottage holiday. The owners have really thought about the home comforts. The chritmas tree and decorations were beautiful!! Nearby to the surrounding villages. We highly recommend The Byres and are planning on returning again later this year.

AMAZING ( YOU WILL RETURN)

The 2 bed barn conversion is amazing. ( Photos don't do it justice). Spotlessly clean, large enclosed garden for the dog. Lovely gift pack on our arrival left by the owner Samantha. She was so helpful when I had a couple of general queries. Grt local pub 5 mins walk away. Grt walks . Broadway is only 15 mins away by car and Evesham 10 mins. Once you've stayed here you'll definitely want to come back. It's home from home.

A wonderful place to stay and escape

We had a fabulous 4 night stay at the Byres in February. The property is fantastically well equipped - everything you can think of is in place and the quality of the equipment and furnishings is first class. Everything was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack on arrival was very well received, and again, great quality. Sam couldn't have been more helpful in letting us use her hose to clean off a muddy dog and in supporting us through an unfortunate incident with a large pothole and a volvo tyre - the pothole won! The property is really well located for numerous gorgeous walks straight out of the door and equally just a brief drive to stunning Cotswold villages and towns. We will definitely return and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful - and really very good value - break.

Perfect for a peaceful escape

Lovely quiet village, lots of walking routes. Nice community run pub in the village serving good fresh food. Beautiful accommodation, perfect for dogs or children with large enclosed garden. Well equipped kitchen, and outdoor accessories, lots of games for rainy days/chill out time in cottage. Much appreciated welcome pack on arrival, help easily accessible if needed.

Wonderful short-break

We can't recommend The Byres highly enough. The cottage was so comfortable, clean and well-presented. Every detail was catered for and made our holiday very enjoyable. A fantastic cottage is a beautiful village

This is probably one of the best cottages I have stayed in. It was spacious and very comfortable and extremely well resourced. There was a large enclosed garden which would have been amazing if I had brought my dog. You would need a car to get around but there were many beautiful and interesting things to see within 30 minutes of the cottage...and far too many for just one week. The village boasted a great pub only a few minutes from the cottage door too.

Fantastic Place to Stay

What a fantastic place to stay! Elmley Castle is a charming village with a good pub within easy walking distance of the property, a quiet base from which to explore the many Cotswold towns and villages, all within easy reach by car. The property itself is beautifully presented and furnished to a high standard, providing everything you could possibly want in a holiday home from home. With great outside space to the rear it provides privacy and tranquility, perfect for winding down at the end of the day. The owners live on site and were very accomodating, but never imposing. We'll definitely be back next time we visit the Cotswolds.

Beautiful cottage in a fab village with a great pub. Some really good walks around the village. Good location for picking up all the tourist hot spots in the Cotswolds. Stayed at the end of September and the weather was cool and rainy however the cottage was lovely and warm with good heating nicely furnished and very comfortable beds. Would recommend!

What a gem of a property. Fabulous location in a chocolate box village. It provided all we needed and the massive garden was a absolute delight for our spaniel. Stay at The Byres

Stayed for a week in very hot weather. Fans provided and lovely shady seating area in peaceful garden much appreciated. Beautiful barn conversion was high spec and very well equipped. Location was perfect with Worcester, Tewkesbury, Stratford Upon Avon and Cotswolds villages all easily reached in around a 30 minutes drive. Lovely quiet and private setting with own parking area in village with pub serving great food a 5 minute walk away. Good supermarkets a very short drive away, Waitrose was our favourite! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

Superb cottage in a great location 10/10

We had a lovely week at the Byres, its is a superb cottage & was ideal for the 3 of us (elderly Mum, me & partner). We especially loved the gorgeous, quiet, private garden, a perfect place to sit out in and enjoy BBQs. The Queen Elizabeth Inn is very convenient & great for beers and excellent food, with friendly staff. The barn is in close proximity to the key Cotswolds villages as well as many other attractions. It was an excellent choice and we would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay

We had a short break - Monday to Friday staying at The Byres from 10 November 2025. What a wonderful find this was. The barn is absolutely stunning with lots of home from home touches including, dishwasher tablets, coffee pods and even some milk and cookies. Our dog loved roaming the beautiful secure garden, if he went missing we’d find him in the main bedroom looking out at the pond in the garden of the main house. Elmsley Castle is a lovely village we used the pub The Queen Elizabeth for dinner one evening and had a wonderful breakfast there the next morning. The barn is ideally situated for visiting the villages and towns in the Cotswolds - you do need a car for getting about. All in all we had a fantastic stay, Samantha was very welcoming and helpful. If we and when we visit the Cotswolds again we would definitely look to stay here again.

Excellent Cottage

Loved our weeks stay at The Byres, Elmley Castle, its centrally heated which makes it extremely comfortable. Also the fact we could do some washing is a great benefit The Byres is in a quaint little village although no shops only The Queen Elizabeth Arms which serves fabulous food. You definitely need a car to drive to the scenic towns of the Cotswolds
