Perfectly located directly at the end of the driveway is access to the Chief Ladiga / Silver Comet Trail — the longest paved rails-to-trails system in the country — making this peaceful retreat ideal for cyclists, hikers, anglers, kayakers, ATV riders, and nature lovers alike.

Enjoy beautiful mountain and woodland views, the soothing sounds of Little Terrapin Creek, and a relaxing swing by the water where you can unwind after a day of exploring. Guests can fish in the creek, hike nearby trails, kayak Terrapin Creek with several local outfitters, or bike for miles through scenic mountain landscapes directly from the property. Bicycle rentals are also available nearby in Piedmont for guests looking to explore the trails without bringing their own equipment.

For outdoor adventure enthusiasts, Indian Mountain ATV Park is located just 14 miles away. The property features a circular driveway and ample parking space, making it convenient for guests traveling with trailers, bicycles, ATVs, or multiple vehicles.

Amazing experience

First trip I planned and hosted, bringing my siblings and kid. This house made it well worth the drive, and the access to all the swimming holes etc around was a plus. I highly suggest getting this place and trying it out. I didn't want to leave, but definitely will be back!

Such fun

We had a great stay at this property, such a cute house and very clean. We enjoyed the fire pit and screened-in porch the most. As we were planning the trip, the owner was so great to communicate with us in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend staying at this location.

The property is amazing.. very nice.. neat place. The only downfall which might not be for others is the limited connectivity. Host is very good to work with.. Would definitely stay again.

My family of 5 used Chief of Ladiga Cottage as our home base for a week. The Host, Julie, was very communicative and gracious to provide some heart felt amenities. The Cottage is remote enough for privacy but not too far from town. We all had a great time!!!!

We Will Be Back!

While we only stayed for 2 nights and were extremely busy due to a wedding we were attending, our family agrees we will be returning when we can stay for a full week and explore more. This home is beautiful and it truly does feel like a home. Communications with the owner were excellent. Cannot say enough good things about our short stay!
