Nice location. The hotel was dated and needy some renovations. Damp and musky smell in hallways and room. The TV picked up 3 stations, cartoon, BET and Laugh in channel. I think this is more of a fishing hotel. Employees were nice and check-in and out were fast.

We were not able to stay here! Do not book with this hotel, we should’ve looked up reviews beforehand. When we checked in and got up to our room, we were assaulted by a horrible smell. It was mildew, beach brine, and body odor! We found swim trunks hanging in the closet, so clearly the room had not bee properly cleaned between guests. We went back down to the front desk to request a new room, had to wait 15-20 minutes for the front desk staff to reemerge. When we politely explained the situation, she seemed confused why we were requesting the room change and ultimately told us she could not switch our room. So we requested a refund since we used the room for approximately 2 minutes. She said that couldn’t be done without a manager and we were instructed to call back the next day when the manager was in. I called twice, phone went straight to voicemail, left two messages and never received a call back. The worst hotel experience of my whole life.

This hotel is in a beautiful location, between the St, Mary's and Potomac rivers, on a narrow strip of land. Sunrise and sunset over the water are both spectacular. The rooms are very comfortable, and could probably use an upgrade at some point, but the rates are so affordable that this is a great and inexpensive getaway. The Ruddy Duck restaurant and bar next door is also delightful and reasonably priced. This hotel is perfect for a weekend getaway less than 2 hours from DC!

My stay was good, I will definitly stay again! My only complaint is the shower did not work and the balcony needs a good power wash (dead bugs everywhere)... Other than that, it was great! I was disappointed in the breakfast as well.

Staff were nice but the rooms need updating.

Toilet running continuously. Black mold in corner of the room by the door. Little beat up remodeled but left holes where the blinds were. Not really clean.

I give this hotel a high rating because it’s always a peaceful place to stay and unwind. I’ve been coming here for years, and just visited after a brief hiatus. Anything on the water is heaven sent. Island Inn can definitely use some updates and deeper cleaning of the room ceilings/walls and the patio section. The room itself was pretty tidy, although the coffee/tea maker could’ve been cleaner, and the furniture (couch/chairs) need a deep clean. The staff is always pleasant. It didn’t take away from my stay though. I look forward for my next getaway.
