Nice big room, wonderful staff. They went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was included and after the chef served a wonderful frittatta, he drove the hotel's airport shuttle van. Great location. Parking is a bit tricky.

Perfect Pisa base!

Hotel Bologna is the ideal base for exploring Pisa and the wider Tuscany region. Only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport and an easy, short walk to the railway station, Hotel Bologna is ideally situated. The must-see leaning Tower of Pisa is no more than 15 minutes walk and there are many other attractions along the nearby riverfront and beyond. It is very close to the Corso Italia where there are some great shops and places to eat. We loved the Museo delle Navi or Museum of Ancient Ships and found this thanks to a really helpful taxi driver who recommended it as a must-see. It is a fascinating history of Pisa's role as an ancient maritime city with hulls of Roman galleys and archaeological finds making this a captivating couple of hours. Travelling by train is easy and Florence is only an hour away for a small fare of 9 euros. The hotel is situated in a quiet street in the centre of Pisa. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and reception staff so friendly and helpful. The biggest selling point is the breakfast buffet with a vast array of delicious pastries, cold meats, cheeses and hot food. I would go back in a heartbeat for the pistachio croissants!

Excellent hotel - very convenient location

I was fortunate to be checked in by Natiele. She was welcoming and friendly. She let me know that I was on the first floor of the building without an elevator. She asked if she could call someone to carry my suitcase up, I said no. When we got to the stairs I told her that we should get someone. She immediately picked my suitcase up and said she had carried heavier. I then forgot to take the keycard when going out and went back to the front desk. I apologized for the inconvenience and she immediately replied that it happens all the time. My five star service rating was based solely on her. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide array of choices. A two minute walk around the corner on Via Nunziatina there was a good pizzeria and a small cafe serving the locals. The hotel is barely a ten minute walk from the Arno and the bridge to the historic sites. Air conditioning worked beautifully.

Well Located Hotel

We were using Pisa as a base for a few days and this hotel was well located for the train station and the Leaning Tower. The room was well appointed and a good size and we had no complaints. Breakfast adequate although better earlier in the morning.

If you have a car the parking cost us a bit steep. I should have parked on the street instead of hotels. Also, air conditioning was not very good, and this was the only issue we had. All the staff were very professional. Breakfast was one of the best we had to date from any hotel - thank you to the staff. Overall I would stay here again for sure.

Great location and overall a good choice. Beds!!!

Great location and super helpful staff. Great choice of breakfast. Main drawback is the hard and noisy bed bases. Rooms are large and traditional. A bit tired but nothing too bad.
