The home was amazing! We loved our stay here and would definitely stay again. Having a fenced in backyard for our dogs was a must. Matt was the very best host we have ever had, needed the pool heated and he was on it!

Pt Charlotte Trip

Location was just as Matt explained. Was a great place to relax and unwind and the boat ride to main body of water took about 35 minutes which was great for the group but a bit far for me to try fishing big water. Even so, we all had a great time.

The pool chairs broke first thing and were never fixed, the heater in the pool wasn’t working for a couple of days. The property seems handicapped accessible which is why I got it but the back yard isn’t. Also there’s a 44 foot sailboat that’s not really featured in any of the pics but takes up the most accessible part of the dock for fishing. The dock that’s past it is very sketchy in places where it’s separated from the structural sections below it. I got this place so that I could take my 90yr old grandmother fishing for her birthday, but couldn’t safely get her to the water in her wheelchair

Good vacation!

This is a very nice home in a great location. Matt is very easy to correspond with and responds quickly to issues. Paid extra for pool heater but between sub tropical weather and pool heater issues we were only in the pool 2 days out of 14. Caught quite a few fish from dock. Gorgeous view!

Better than advertised!

My family and I stayed at this rental for a vacation and everything about our stay was perfect. The house was clean, fully stocked, and offered plenty of activities for my family. We spent hours in the heated pool and kayaking through the canals. In the mornings we enjoyed coffee by the pool watching the sunrise over the water. Perfect! One recommendation I have for future renters is to make sure you watch the owner's videos that explain how everything works in the house. Have a great stay! I know we'll be back!

Great Vacation !

We had an amazing stay at Liz's Hurricane Hideout! Matt, the host, was incredibly responsive and friendly. We arrived in Port Charlotte around 10 am, and he graciously allowed us to check in early. Any hiccups, like the entry code and pool heater, were promptly addressed, ensuring our comfort throughout the stay. The house itself is tastefully furnished, offering a level of comfort and style that goes beyond your typical rental. But the real highlight was the covered Dockside Bar — a true gem where we spent hours enjoying drinks and the serene channel view. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and accommodating getaway!

Wonderfully playful but quiet home

We had such a wonderful time staying at this home while going to spring training games with our boys. Our two boys adored the pool, especially the basketball goal. My husband and I loved having coffee on the dock each morning, even spotting dolphins going through the canal. The layout of the house was great as well and loved the dark shades in each room (almost blackout). My only negative would be that I found the master bed a little uncomfortable. We would however def book again.
