We we're only going there for the pool with our grandkids. As you can see I sent them a message well in advance asking about early check in and the pool . Their site doesn't note that the pool is closed till summer due to roof leaks. I never got a response till I walked in the front door. Excuses and more excuses as to why I wasn't responded too and why their site isn't updated

I was in the area for a family gathering and while I had no issues with my room, my parents had to change rooms twice due to maintenance issues. Their third room had a clogged sink but they didn’t want to move again. My sister’s room had a clogged toilet that the hotel staff said was fixed but wasn’t. There was no offer to swap rooms (they may have been full at this point), leading to my sister using the bathroom in mine and parents rooms for the weekend. The hotel was clean and the staff otherwise was very good but it’s clear they are understaffed. The check-in clerk was shoveling the snow Sunday morning when a lot of people were checking out. Also, you have to request housekeeping at check in otherwise you won’t receive it even for a multi-day stay.

Our room was spacious and clean. Although the gym was small, it was perfect for what our needs were. The breakfast buffet was just as perfect in the morning. We were able to do a small laundry from our previous few days of travel also. The CVS across the street was also a bonus! We didn't utilize the pool, but in the winter, I'm sure a heated pool would have been great. The quietness in the lobby was nice as well as the variety of snacks available. The front desk was so accommodating when we arrived early. Thanks so much for a great stay during our college visit to UNH!!

The ladies at the front desk are amazing! I walk in and they know me by name from the 4 times we’ve stayed there. The hotel is so cute and I loved all the decor for the holidays. My family has loved our trips to the hotel! We’re very thankful!

Rooms were very clean. Staff was friendly, professional, and ready to go “the extra mile” to contribute to giving the guests a pleasant and satisfying experience. My only issue was that I was never told the indoor pool had NO WATER IN IT! We were looking forward to swimming and if I had known about the unusable pool, I’d have found a different place with a pool that has water in it. Is it Expedia’s or The Garrison Hotel’s responsibility to tell a guest about the pool (almost literally), being like what “Granny” from The Beverly Hillbillies calls “the ceeeement pond”!

I’ve stayed at this place a few times and usually it’s ok. This time was a little different. Our room was ok but the bathroom was not clean. The drain in the shower was disgusting and there was mold in the shower. The shower was so gross. We didn’t even use it.

Very pleasant stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful, check-in and check-out were both very smooth, and the complimentary breakfast was ample and well-stocked. Room was clean -- the only issue was a towel rack that was poorly installed and fell off the wall during our stay. Location is perfect if you need to be in Dover, Rochester, or event Portsmouth (about a 10-15 minute drive). No frills, but very warm and welcoming.
