Wonderful modern home that is very clean and has fantastic views. Just be warned that Positano has MANY steps and this location is no exception so try to plan your days with as few back and forth trips as possible, the elderly and very young kids will be challenged. There is an elevator (1 Euro per person/per direction) that will help with getting you from street level, but there is a set of steps that are EXTRA high right before the apartment that you will want to be mindful of. They do offer help with luggage for a fee. The hosts were very accommodating with check in and communicating.
The house was beautiful with a wonderful view! We had an issue with power and water going out. Understandably, it was the high season and apparently this can be common in Positano. However, there should have been some warning in the listing, from staff, etc. especially at this price point. The AC would go out in extreme heat, the water would go out mid-shower or mid-wash cycle. It was very inconvenient. There were 6 of us staying there and would not recommend any more than that (max is listed as 8), as there are only 3 rooms and it seems the power/water could not handle 6 as it was. I reached out to the booking company (Amore rentals in Italy) and they pretty much said sorry it happens in Positano. Again, that is understandable, but some forewarning should be advised, and possibly even a lower price point. For the amount we paid I would have rather stayed in a hotel where Iâm guaranteed AC, power, and water.
This property was as described. However, in all of my property rental experiences, I have never had such bad service as we experienced with Amore Rentals. They asked if we needed help with a transfer from Naples and sent me the pricing. I confirmed that I would like to book that and that the price was fine. However, they never booked it and we were stranded at the Naples train station with no ride. Once we finally arrived in Positano, the company wanted to charge me a 50 Euro late check-in fee even though they were responsible for our being late! Then, they sent me a threatening message that if we didn't pay that and the cleaning fee, they would report me to the booking agency. We did pay the cleaning fee in cash at check-in, as we were supposed to, but Amore didn't communicate with the person who checked us in so they didn't know we had paid! In fact, we were passed off to four separate people for check-in--it's no wonder they had no idea what was going on! They were completely lacking in responsibility and then turned aggressive on us. It really was unbelievable. We will not be using them again, and in fact, I believe this property is no longer being listed with VRBO.
Cute, great service, substandard location and accommodation
To enter this property, you walk through one familyâs patio and across another familyâs porch.
One of the beds sags precipitously in the middle.
No extra toilet paper and two laundry pods total.
The walls are so thin you hear everything from the unit next door.
The local representative was lovely. The apartment looks attractive.
Amazing place. High up with fantastic views but not suitable for the elderly or infirm, otherwise would highly recommend to anyone who likes peace, quiet and beautiful scenery. The Beech is a steep walk down to but enjoyable for all ages with plenty of restaurants and shops. My family ranged from age late fifties to middle twenties and we all had a wonderful holiday.
Beautiful place! It is about a 30-40 minute walk all the way down to the beach. Coming back from the beach, you can take a bus to the main road closest to the apartment but it is still a 10-15 minute walk to the apartment itself and is uphill with lots of stairs. Our host was very nice and very helpful with recommendations!
