Avis pour Charming waterfront home with full kitchen, furnished deck, & incredible views
Pros: the view is obviously amazing with a nice deck and yard facing the water. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with every pot, pan, dish, cup, etc. They also provided the necessary stuff for a shower along with plenty of towels and wash rags. Cons: I am a private person and I felt quite uncomfortable, especially at night, with so few window coverings. If they would put up more blinds and curtains, I would have been much more comfortable. Also, the carpet in the small bedroom was so disgusting. I hated to even walk on it. I'm assuming they were stained from pets peeing on them. But it was truly gross.I'd highly recommend pulling up that carpet. Anything would be better than that stuff.
The house was clean and had everything we needed. It is difficult to find and get in especially at night/in the dark because there is not a house number at the street (just a "Vacasa" sign" and the porch light does not shine over the door so punching in the long numerical code to access the house each time is challenging. The furniture and kitchen are dated but everything was comfortable. We appreciated the coffee and filters, the shampoo, and lots of towels. The yard is fenced and our dog loved it. And as the description says, the view is amazing!
I normally donât like to write negative reviews and let things go by, but Iâm writing a negative review since the place needs serious attention. For the amount charged, the owners should consider renovating a bit. I felt cheated off our hard-earned money. First, a minor, but confusing one. The property is tucked behind another property with another address plate. As at least one more reviewer commented, it is tricky to locate this property.Second, a major one. The property needs serious renovation. The living area smells very stuffy. We had to open the doors in the cold to bring some fresh air, and yet, the smell wonât go anyway. The living area couch is very dirty. It seems to have seen its age. The bathroom is so so.Finally, we decided to get out of the property early. It is not livable, except the master bed room, which was okay. Please skip this property.
This place was an outstanding stay. We'd definitely be back if we come this way again. We felt comfortable and at home. The view was amazing. The location, the amenities, were all just right. I had to pry my wife off the couch on our checkout day. We were super comfortable, but it is a cabin and not a home. Expect some minor things, such as needing to run a space heater in the main room. Bedrooms have baseboard heaters and thermostats which work well. The kitchen is basic, but on par with other rentals we've stayed at. Appliances all worked well. You won't run short on linens or basics - they supply you well. Hot water was never an issue (always a concern in the mornings with a teenager). If the weather had been nicer, I don't know that I would have left the deck. I spent my mornings out there with my coffee enjoying the canal and the mountains. We didn't try the two supplied grills (charcoal and propane) this trip, but I considered using them. Outside spaces were beautiful and well-maintained.It does share a property with the owners (whom we never saw). Parking was good for us, but would be tight for 2 cars. The driveway is shared with the owners. The cabin is down a few steps from the parking. Walmart is 10 minutes away if you need something. Poulsbo is a fantastic little town with great restaurants and charms I did not expect. All in all, I have this one in my favorites if/when we come back this way.
Very cute home on Hood Canal that is close enough to stores/town/freeway and yet very private and secluded. Just north of Bangor Naval base, we got to see a sub in transit! Nice deck and yard, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. This was my 2nd time staying and I would stay here again.
