Check-in person was surprisingly rude. Both to us and the people after us. Hotel might be historic but interior is like a cheap economy hotel. Rug stains, water stains on ceiling, damaged furniture, cheap soap. The “resort fee” is insulting in a hotel like this. The exterior seems to be where homeless people gather. Maybe 20 at any given time. Sign warns you that it will take 30 minutes to get your valet parked car. No other options. .

This hotel was located in the perfect area for walking. There was so much to see and do. The room itself was a bit small, but more than made up with a very spacious bedroom. The rooms are close, and the hallway narrow, so be ready for some late night/early morning noise from other travelers.

Our family had a fantastic last-minute stay at Hotel Providence. The location can’t be beat; it is in walking distance from almost anything you could want to do in Providence. Our room (two queen beds) was clean, spacious and comfortable. The “continental” breakfast buffet was nicer than a typical continental breakfast, with several hot options and lots of fresh fruit. I would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful boutique hotel. Many originals antique furnishings and paintings throughout hotel. Room was nice size with modern bathrooms and deco style room furnishings. Decent fitness room in basement enough for full workout. Nice breakfast bar included and coffee/tea setup in lobby throughout day. There are homeless in area and throughout city but was never bothered. Very walkable location to stores and eateries. Lovely staff. Will return.

Found the staff to be fairly rude. Tried to avoid interacting with them after the first few times. Constant water/plumbing noise in the room coming from above, meaning sleep would have been difficult without earplugs/airpods.

While the hotel has the novelty of being a historic building, this is the best it has to offer. The hotel is very dated, there is a skeleton staff working there, plus its very unsafe as the area surrounding the hotel is overrun with homelessness, and sadly drug addicts.

Overall the hotel was ok. It was clean and a place to stay. Unfortunately the room when we arrived was pumping out heat. The staff was helpful and he managed to do something to correct it. There is no thermostat and I had no idea what temperature it was set to but it worked. The down button on the elevator did not work. We were on the 4th floor. The second thing was that a fire alarm went off at 8am on Sunday which meant we were woken up and had to evacuate our room. Then church bells rang shortly after. If you’re looking for a restful night, I’d choose some place else.

I was surprised to find out that the parking was not included. $40 a day is quite a lot. There was no refrigerator in the room. Although the room was very small, I’m sure they could’ve fit a refrigerator somewhere. Even a little tiny one. Also I asked somebody at the front desk to put my food in the refrigerator near the lobby and she took my food. Then when I went to pick it up the next day, a different person was there and he did not have any idea where my food was. He told me that we don’t normally do it, but the other girl did it without any problem. Also, I was supposed to receive a $15 credit for something. Could you please tell me what that’s about?
