Check-in person was surprisingly rude. Both to us and the people after us. Hotel might be historic but interior is like a cheap economy hotel. Rug stains, water stains on ceiling, damaged furniture, cheap soap. The “resort fee” is insulting in a hotel like this. The exterior seems to be where homeless people gather. Maybe 20 at any given time. Sign warns you that it will take 30 minutes to get your valet parked car. No other options. .

The entrance way felt a bit tattered. The area has many closed and vacant businesses even tho its downtown Providence. It is convenient to the station 15 minute walk

I really didn't like this hotel at all, and I never leave bad reviews. The lobby service is just terrible. They did not set up the bed for my daughter as we asked. The mattress seems ancient, lumpy, squeaky. The breakfast was dirty and not promptly replenished. Beware, they charge a $28 resort fee for breakfast, soda and water. Totally a rip off. The area feels very unsafe. I would never never stay here again

They have teenagers, who are poorly trained, manning the front desk. We were forced to pay a breakfast fee or they would not check us into the hotel. There was a street festival going on and all the streets around the hotel were closed. The hotel sent out no notice about the street closures or parking options. We had to park four blocks away and drag our luggage through the streets. Hotel refused to reimburse our parking fee.

Beautiful “old world” hotel with a quaint European flair. Loved the antique furniture, marble floors and ample guest rooms. Walking distance to Federal Hill, as well as to many nice shops and restaurants. The beds were very comfy. Only downer were the vagrants that camp out on the sidewalk right in front of the hotel.

DO NOT STAY THERE

Not worth $300 a night. Homeless sleeping in front of hotel. People smoking crack in front of hotel. Had to pay to park. Very very bad area. Extra fees. Amenities fees $23 a day extra, park $40 a day extra. Resort Fee?? Not a resort, not even close. Not safe. Horrible customer service. Lazy staff. Late breakfast 8-10am, would does that. Do not stay here.

Coffee maker was broken, requested to staff, but I was told to tell cleaner, and cleaner did not understand English. Also, hot water was not available. I had to ask every time at the front. Front desk had to go to cafe to get each time. Only one staff when I arrived, not enough staffs to help customers to carry move luggage. Only location was good. Walking distance to my destination. However, in front of hotel street had homeless.

Classic Providence boutique hotel. Staff isn't the most helpful or most available but gets the job done. The room I had (1 queen bed) wasn't super big but worked, I imagine other rooms look better. Mathewson Street Church is right across the street and provides meals to the unhoused, 99% of the time has no incidents but can get a little noisy and rough at night. That being said, it's an incredibly convenient location just off of Westminster Street and a nice walk anywhere throughout Downcity (incl. Jewelry Dist. and bridge to East Side). I live in Providence so I don't usually stay at hotels, but this is a pretty good option.
