Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was nice, but not woth the cost. Our room was clean, but the stairwell and courtyard areas needed more attention. The patio off our room would have been great to use but the outdoor furnitur was uncomfortable and not enjoyable. At check out we had a shocker a U.S. $25 dollar charge for a handtowl that they said was stained. We saw the towel and any other hotel would have used bleach and removed the stain. Summary pleasant not great and overpriced.for which the hotel said they coul

We are quite surprised and dismayed by the content of your review regarding your holiday at our Garlands del Rio , please rest assured that your comments have been taken onboard and revised by the entire Management team and this will help to give our guest a better experience, however we would like share you that we use different we used different chemicals in order to remove the stain damaged towels and they could not be removed, that's why the charge was made, we are sorry that this incident has changed your whole perspective of your stay.

My stay at the Garlands is always exceptional. Each room has its own charm.This was my second stay at this beautiful and charming place. Martha from guest services is very charming and helpful, Her smile is very warm and welcoming,she is very attentive.

Wow!!!

Pros: Everything!
Cons: It sounds small, but the headboard in our room was metal and wasn't that easy to sleep against; the pillows kept sliding underneath it.
Location: Walking distance to the beach and the mercado, where the locals shop. And honestly, there isn't a dull block in the Zona Romantica!
Halfway through our trip, my girlfriend and I were already planning our next one. I can't sufficiently overstate how perfect this place was; everything from our room to the location to the staff was first rate. Close enough to the beach to walk, but not so close that you get all the touristy, party overflow. We stayed in the Marquesa room, which has a balcony, and its privacy and comfort (and shower that opens up to the trees) is well worth the extra pesos. Sure, you're by the river, across from which is a jazz cafe with nightly live music, but it's more ambiance than nuisance. We will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later!

funky,quaint,eclectic ..all blended together

Booked 3nites stay . Liked it so much decided to stay 2 more nites. Had to change rooms, but that was ok. Each room is unique. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Breakfast was always good. Staff are very helpful. I would recommend this hotel.
