Everything was really great! The bartenders, shuttle drivers, etc were all great. The only issue, which was small, was we had to ask several times for wash clothes. Food was good and nice variety. Beaches were clean and gorgeous. The chairs were plentiful at beach and pool.

We had reviewed dozens of resorts before deciding on Bavaro princess, especially after our friends insisted on this place after visiting for their honeymoon 2 years prior. When we booked we had upgraded to platinum so our check in building was on the other side of the resort so a trolley comes around and takes you. How nice, right? Wrong... the driver waited 20 minutes after dropping us off until we tipped him. First suite we got, the a/c wouldn’t go below 80. Moved us to another room and it went to 77. We went to dinner and came back and our belongings were COVERED in cockroaches!!! We tried to kill them and they ran between the floor and wall where it was cracked open. We moved the bed to check and there were more back by the headboard. We called the desk and they sent someone out with a can of raid. I swear I could literally hear the cockroaches laughing.... the guy sprayed and the cockroaches just started coming out everywhere and he said that was all he could do. No one else would help or switch us again! It was so horribly disgusting that we ended up booking another resort and getting the hell out as soon as we could. This place has went to crap, honestly! It’s 30 some years old and even though the grounds are stunning... the rooms are terrifying. Oh and both suites front doors didn’t lock! Don’t waste your money, these must all be old reviews because this place has went so far down hill.

Very nice ,clean, thou not the newest, great beach, food all good, only thing to say about that, buffet style food not always hot (warm) lots of choices, best to go to a la cart restaurants, pasta bars, omelette bar etc.... Activities around pool lacking, need someone that is motivated to get people involved, if you like activities. Nightly shows ok. Casino, don’t bother! Over all very nice, lovely and relaxing. One complaint no WiFi in rooms, pool etc.. only in main lobby, makes it hard if traveling in groups to my daily plans. ( beware of timeshare folks or what they call it a vacation share, 30,000. Plus and annual 1500. I don’t think so ! )

My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary at the Bavaro Princess. We have absolutely no complaints everything was excellent with the exception of the entertainment which could have been better. The staff was super nice even remembers his birthday and our anniversary. The set up a birthday dinner surprise with cake and for our anniversary we walked into our room fully decorated - no additional cost. Very nice people in DR they go out of there way to please you and make sure you enjoy your stay. I must warn you we did upgrade to Platinum and that makes a very BIG difference. Our room was ocean front, premium brand liquor, free 20 massage for each with an upgrade to 55 minutes for only $60 charge, access to all the restaurants with no wait and we could go to the other resorts. The private beach access was priceless - bar staff would not stop coming around to us to see if we were ok or needed another drink. Wonderful vacation!!!! Highly recommend but not go expecting a 5 star resort - I would rate it 4 star. Very intimate and great for couples!!!!!! We wanted to stay another week - we made wonderful memories!!!! Thank you to all the staff!!!!!

Hotel very nice. Grounds upkeep was nice. Gift shop girls were rude and self consumed. Everyone else so accomadating. Food was either a hit or miss. But can’t please us all right. Alcohol was terrible tho. Everything watered down ugh. So I drank champagne can’t water that down lol. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would visit again.

Great Hotel & Suspect Island

Pros: Beach w/ Platinum Service Pool Overall, staff were very friendly and extreme pros Shows were entertaining.(poolside & nightly) Overall cleanliness
Cons: Platinum lobby staff (not beach). Golf cart staff offered coke on the grounds, not cool in a 'family' place, if I want, I'll ask thanks. Toilet fails.
Location: Onsite location great..Didn't feel safe offsite, really had to stay mindful (unrelaxed). Really, not much separating the 2 but 'feels' like there is.
OK so first time to DR. Went with friends who have a timeshare and who speak fluent Spanish..It was me, my wife and daughter. The hotel itself if terrific IHMO. It is dated, but for a tropical location it's top notch. Grounds are impeccable, filled with birds and easy to stroll. Walked often, lobby to beach, just b/c we like to walk. 7 year old never tired from walks. Tram does get busy at times, but if you don't mind waiting, one would be there. Pool is great. Does get busy on the weekends, but never a problem with getting poolside drinks. Beach experience was top notch with the Platinum package. I recommend the Platinum package if you like to drink or spend the day on the beach with amenities. Other than those 2 things, not a big benefit IMHO, but if you like those 2 things, you'll be glad you spent the extra. Restaurants=OK. Best=Hibachi. Reservations a must offered with Platinum, but here's a tip, be generously friendly and you won't need the package ;). The buffet was great and very big IMHO (I like to eat). Had themed dinners with a good dose of variation at lunch..Repeated food were things I liked, but if you didn't, food may become boring. Never got sick. Cable out for 2 of 7 days, but I enjoyed that. Internet always on. Shout outs to Jose, Pedro, WIlfred, Santana & Yesenia, Top notch staff members. Tell them the mafioso Americano sent you. Overall, would go back with lots of friends and an exit strategy if civil order broke down while there.

Not what expected

The hotel thinks its a 5 star, it is really a 3 star hotel, the rooms are very outdated, beds are a piece of rock, no comfort whatsoever, they give you soap to shower that its not refreshing or has any good aroma, they give you only 2 towels in a bedroom for 3, and the towels are so extreemely old and used that they are super thin. DONT COME TO THIS PLACE, INSTED OAY A BIT MORE AND GOBTO BAVARO PALACE.

Beautiful beach

The hotel is very nice, the staff is friendly and helpful. The food was average, the drinks not very good. The wine taste water down.

DO NOT GO HERE.

Pros: The animals roaming around.
Cons: The bed, the shuttles need to be bigger. The front desk staff needs to accomidate its guests more properly.
Location: Shuttle, Shuttle, did I mention anything you want to do, you have to sit on a shuttle?
Looking for a relaxing vacation? Then DO NOT go to this hotel. This hotel is terrible. Everytime you want to go to the pool, ocean, or lobby, you have to wait for a shuttle to take you from your room to the destination. The bed is like a cardboard box. The staff tries to be nice but the only real motivation is CASH. Our room was not ready when we got to the hotel. After I gave him CASH, he got us into a room that was not even cleaned. The bed sheets did not smell clean at all. We slept on top of the bed. The next day they had balloons, flowers, and towels made into doves in our room. ( They realized they messed up). The food is outdoors in the lobby. (Yes, food is outdoors, at a 100 degree weather with 90 degree humiditiy). Food taste terrible. Only area to have Wi-Fi is the lobby. There is no night entertainment. I saw no pool activities. The drinks are nasty. I tried almost every drink, they all sucked. The pool was overcrowded. The ocean was all seaweed. This was on May 20, 2018. The hotel lies and says there is a 1 hour tour to show you around the place but in reality they take you to someone who is trying to sell you timeshare. Waste your whole day there. Then when we asked to transfer to a sister hotel, they said they cant transfer us. We canceled our trip second day and flew back home. Could not be happier to leave that place. Will never visit Dominican Republic again.
