90% of the food was horrible - overcooked, bland, etc. Had to "bribe" the maitre d to be seated even though there were plenty of seats. Not acceptable at all and no where near the food and service we received at other RIU properties. We won't be back.

The food is pretty bad, the steak at the steakhouse was literally 1/2 fat and was super tough. I understand it’s included, but they still charge a pretty hefty price for a 3 day stay. The staff is very rude and act like they are always being bothered and do not want to be there. Not one smile was seen from staff. In addition, the security guards for safety are good to have of course, but a family member who was just trying to bring me cold and flu medicine was denied entry and couldn’t even visit. That’s beyond ridiculous. The front desk denied them access and said I could walk all the way to the security gate on foot if I wanted to see them. The do not disturb sign means nothing there since we still had employees coming in our room. Definitely not impressed with this resort, first time with RIU and definitely the last.

Room was awful needed to be clean with Bleach and painted professionally also re caulking and grouting needed staff was ok room and clean was sub par at best and the Manager excuse was it's a party resort so they can't wash walls where the elevator is at and clean stainless steel with all the people traffic

We asked for a king bed and got 2 singles with no explanation. The water did not drain from the shower. The next day we were moved to a room with a king size bed but none of the electrical outlets worked. It took them a day to fix the one by the bedside table but they never repaired the one in the bathroom or the bar area. Day 5 at 3:00pm our room was not cleaned. I made 2 requests throughout the day and at 9:20 pm it was still not cleaned and we had no clean towels. After another request they cleaned the bathroom but did not replenish water or anything in the bar. i was on the 4th floor and requested my room close to an elevator. There was 1 working elevator and the room i received was on the opposite end of the building. The rooms are extremely cold and we could not control the air condition. No one answers the phone when a call is made from the room, not operator, front desk, concierge - no answer the phone constantly rang busy.

The pool was nice, the room was nice, beach was very good. The food, however, was horrendous. Bartenders are only friendly to the Spanish speaking customers.

We had high expectations for this hotel since we been to the ones in Aruba and Los Cabos Mexico. The room smelled, pillows were dirty, the outlets did not work, and the food variety was bad. The only positive was the pools and pool bar area were nice.
