Fantastic home, well appointed and super clean and cozy. Loved the proximity to all things Quechee and Woodstock. Iâve stayed in several homes in the area and this was a 10/10 for me.
The space was private but not well maintained. The dishwasher was dirty, used dishes were left out, and the window screens need replacement due to a significant number of bugs inside. Additionally, the heat was not working, and we had to rely on the fireplace for warmth. The manager offered a 10% refund for the heating issue, which we accepted, but we have not received it yet.
Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Lots of amenities. Would have liked to have known oven didnât work and master bath needs some improvement but overall a great place to stay.
Overall the house was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a small group weekend getaway. It was easy to find and provided a well stocked kitchen. Some of the downsides to the place included a couple of cleanliness issues namely old coffee in the coffee pot and surfaces of one of the dressers that needed to be wiped down. Additionally, there is a fire pit and woodburning fireplace on the property (as listed in the description) and while there is firewood in the rack in the pictures, it was empty during our stay . There is a jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, the listing says that the jets did not work, however it wasnât until we arrived that we discovered that the entire tub was not useable. These two features added to the appeal of our booking and therefore not disclosing the status of the tub & needing to provide our own firewood gave us a major disappointment for our stay.
Great place - second time we've stayed here. Plenty of space, well-equipped chef's kitchen - great for cooking and entertaining. If you have kids or family and want to cook for them, this is the place you want. Private and cooled in the Spring/Summer by all the trees - great place to stay while visiting Queeche, Woodstock, and beyond.
This is our second time staying here. This year I was a little disappointed in my stay at this house. We were informed on the day of arrival that the dryer was replaced and would be hooked up three days after the start of our rental. There was some dialogue with the local manager and the local managers supervisor during the course of our stay, but in the end we never had use of a dryer in the house. The property manager Kate spoke on the phone with us and was supposed to get back to us and never did. We were there for multiple weeks and were forced to use the laundromat. To me as a renter that's an unacceptable solution. I understand things break and need to be repaired but when you are in the business of renting your property, having that property in tiptop condition should be the priority. If an appliance needs to be replaced, it should be replaced in a day with a competent installer and property management should do what it takes to take care of the situation. Vacations are about enjoyment not about inconvenience.
Other than that the house could've used a deep clean. The master shower had a lot of mold that could easily be fixed by removing the moldy chaulk and re-chaulking. Both times we have stayed, we arrive after a day of driving in the dark to snow and ice on the deck walking path to the front door.
Tucked into the forest right off the main road from Woodstock through Quechee; perfect location for a small group with access to all of the main attractions around town while being tucked away in the woods with tremendous privacy. Great place for a small group or a couples getaway. 10/10 recommend!
House is good. Kitchen is great. Master bath needs help
The house is great and the kitchen is incredible. House is spacious with a great wraparound deck.
A few things need improvement:. Master bath shower is moldy and glass door is white to the point it's not transparent any more in the bottom half. Shower was so icy we decided not to shower. Tub in master bath doesn't work and is missing handles. There are no blinds in any of the windows of the master bedroom, so it's very early mornings. Washer didn't work.
