Overall the Riad was great. Although initially difficult to find, once there it was within easy reach of the tram stop and also within walking distance of the Sale train station.
I had a good stay, although I was a little disappointed with the price of the Riad. Breakfast was provided but it was the same every morning and quite basic. Staff were helpful but some communication barriers were present.
My room was spacious but lacked a fridge and no t.v. in fact I did not see a t.v. anywhere. Disappointed there was no water available.
I would definitely visit Morocco again but would not stay in this Riad again. For the price per person per night I did not feel it was value for money.
Very helpful staff, confortable, élégant interior.
Great location once one found it! Just inside the Sale Medina. Very helpful staff. Undortunately, internet was not reliable at all times. The hotel, without us having to ask, relocated us to a room with more reliable connection. Best to get off train at Sale Gare (train station), oy 20 dirham to hotel. We got off at Rabat station- 100-120 sirham taxi fare. Enjoyable breakfast. Elegant surroundings. Comfortable room and bed, elevaror.
My husband and I spent 4 days at Marco Andaluz and we could not have chosen a better Riad! Beautiful architecture, spacious dining and common areas furnished with quality Moroccan style furniture, a lot of sitting space on the rooftop with a swimming pool (albeit small), AC equipped rooms with comfortable bed - we could not wish for me. The breakfast was decent by Moroccan measure. The hosts were very friendly. Offered us complementary tea and bottled water at least once a day. They also surprised us all by inviting street musician passing through the neighborhood. It was a really special treat!
The hotel itself & room was beautiful. Staff was friendly & helpful, though spoke no English & so that was hard! Breakfast was amazing & so was the view from the terrace.
Very big Riad, where you can hear everything. Brekfast was ok - same every day, but ok. Bathroom has a "funny" not nice smell. Clean room, but worn furniture (good mattress and nice pillows).
Good location, less than 10 minutes walk to the tram and train stations. The riad is very beautiful with a wonderful roof garden. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I had an amazing stay...the manager and owner along with the rest of employees went out of their way to help me to make my stay easier and more comfortable. Will definitely stay again. Riad close to local market, train station, and beach
All the basics were perfect! The bed was very comfortable, good quality linen and pillows. The shower powerful, and the room was spacious& clean. Breakfast was very good and wifi worked perfectly.
The location is not perfect, but the price compensates very well for that. I will definitely stay there again.
Overall the place was clean and decent Moroc breakfast. There was no one who spoke English here, but they still tried to help. It is not in the main area, but 10 mins walk to tram to go over to main area.
4.9 rating for this place? Really?? I have lost confidence in the guest reviews. The location is bad...even the taxi driver asked me why I booked this place as it is located in a not so good side of town. No welcome drink as mentioned during booking. No tv, the room needs to be cleaned really well. The breakfast was terrible. Extremely overpriced. Lets say I will not even think about staying here again.
Overall, I like my stay at this Riad. The owner was pleasant and accommodating but I had limited contact with her and her staffs.
The Riad is difficult to find. A taxi ride from Sale train station to the Riad is only 45 dh (4.50 euros). When booking a Riad, one needs to understand that these are actual living quarters of local folks. I have lived in Rabat for many years but I was still a bit shock when I had to walk from a nearby tram station to the Riad. These establishments are usually located in the old part of town and the walking paths are usually not well lit, pathways are narrow and winding. These conditions applied to all Riads!
This particular Riad is very nice. The rooms were extremely large and clean. The room that I was in had a surprisingly powerful AC that you can leave on while being away from the establishment, a definite plus for Morocco. The general area (similar to a hotel lobby) is very nice. It has beautiful furniture and the "inside courtyard" has intricate Moroccan architecture (geometric design throughout). The roof of the Riad gives an overview of Sale. The location is very good too. It is close to the tram that connect you to Rabat and close to the beach and local fishing port as well. If you are a bit adventurous, you can take a boat to cross the small river to Rabat. The poor guy who rowed the boat across the river only charged 2.5 dh (25 cents) to make the crossing. For info, ask the Riad owner. Stay at a Riad if you want a real local experience
A magnificent, in part historic Riad in the Salé Medina, restored with care and great attention to detail by Marc and his talented craftsmen. Room furnishings are tasteful, comfortable and in local style.
At first a bit difficult to find because the street address given by Expedia is wrong - the Riad is NOT at 27 Mekteb Tiyal but 50 yards to the South, maybe street number 17, on the right side when comming from the city walls.
Marc and his assistant Nasra are charming hosts and we spent a long evening in the cosy kitchen around a good bottle of Moroccan red, yakking about this and that.
The roof terraces are lovely with great views over the Medina.
The Medina itself is large but not daunting. The sights and smells, wow! During two days of traipsing around I only saw one other tourist couple, Salé definitly still belongs to Moroccans.
I stayed at Riad Marco Andaluz with three friends split between two rooms for one night and had a great experience. Our cab driver had some trouble finding the place, it's not on a main street, but once we got there the manager bartered with the cab driver for us since we didn't speak French, gettting him to charge us a non-inflated rate.
We were quickly served tea and the owner who speaks English came out to greet us. Since we had gotten in fairly late and didn't have plans they offered to get food from a local restaurant for us and brought it back to the hotel.
The rooms were a good size and comfortable. The AC worked well. It is good to be aware that the doors into the room are glass with a curtain covering them, which seems typical in Riads in Morocco, and there was just a curtain separating the bathroom, rather than a real door, which wasn't a big deal for us but some people may not like.
Overall we had a great experience and I would definitely recommend the hotel.
Riad Marco Andaluz is a marvelous hotel. ..lovely accommodations in a convenient location. The proprietess and staff are all so helpful and kind. .I highly recommend this place!
This is a lovely riad in the Medina of Sale and not too difficult to find, though it would be helpful if there was a larger sign. I felt quite pampered as every time I came in I was offered a free tea or coffee. It is cheaper than staying in Rabat but it is only 10 minutes to walk to either the tram or the rowing boat ferry. If I was to come back to this area this is the place I would stay.
Sehr freundliche Gastgeberfamilie Verschachteltes Riad, wunderschöner Innenhof und Dachterrassenpool. Parkmöglichkeit nicht so toll, d.h. 200 m Koffer schleppen.
