Summary:
The apartment features a comfortable queen-size memory foam bed in the bedroom and a small futon in the living area that works well for children. While La Casita is ideal for one or two adults, guests needing more space may want to consider our nearby Carriage House or Gallery House, both located next door.

La Casita includes a full kitchen with coffee, a full bathroom with tub, and fast fiber-optic Wi-Fi. The living area features a 65â smart TV with quality sound, making it a comfortable spot to unwind after a long day.
Guests also have access to a shared grassy, shaded yard, which is common space shared with the nearby Historic Carriage House and Queen Anne Art House. Off-street parking is available, and we can typically accommodate trucks and trailers. If youâre traveling with a larger rig, please check with us in advance.
Guest Access:
Welcome to The Casita, Feel free to park right next to the stairsâthereâs no need to worry about blocking the garage doors, as we donât need access to them.
If you have any questions or need assistance during your stay, donât hesitate to reach out!
The Neighborhood:
Weâre right off 2nd Street which is the main drag through Raton. There is a great little trail system "Climax Canyon" available for hiking and biking just a few blocks away. It is easily walkable to downtown where you'll find the Amtrak Train station and eating options including, Brunoâs (pizza, wings, salad), Los Chanquis, Mexican and Seafood, Enchanted Grounds (coffee and sandwiches), La Cocina (Mexican) and the local brewery Colfax Ale Cellar. Sage Coffee is the other direction (south) just a few blocks and has the best coffee in town as well as fresh baked goods and pastries.
Getting Around:
Raton is a small town so walking is easy but parking is plentiful so driving is fine too
Other Things to Note:
The apartment is accessed by stairs, which are somewhat steep. Please take care when coming and going.
Green bear-proof dumpsters are located just across the street and are available for guest use.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared yard areas. La Casita also has its own small patio with chairs located at the base of the stairs.
Interaction with Guests:
One of the hosts is almost always available to answer questions via message or text.
We live 35 miles east of town on a ranch. We are not typically around when guests arrive (I wish we were) but please feel free to reach out with any questions.
