Restored 100 year old 2brm cottage. Fully self-contained in rural hastings. Enjoy a quiet getaway in the country on a small truffiere and hazelnut orchard. Sky tv and free wi-fi included.

Relocated from a neighbouring farm, this 100 year old once derelict cottage has been lovingly restored. Located on our property yet still private Matehaere cottage makes a Fabulous base for a Hawkes Bay holiday. Wake to the sound of birdsong in the mornings and relax on the deck while you choose from the many activities, concerts and events Hawkes Bay has to offer. Great for couples, friends or family.

Full kitchen facilities, dishwasher, fan oven, gas hob, microwave etc. French doors open onto private deck with Bbq.

We are located just 10mins from the Bridge Pa triangle wine district, golf clubs and cycle paths. This district also has great circuits for road cycling

Great rural spot for quiet getaway in wine country

Cute, clean simple cottage in quiet farm area. Great kitchen/BBQ and living space for a family. Hosts were good communicators. Great value. Close enough to wineries etc but brilliant for getting away from it all too.

Two day breather

We were warned that it got cold at night but the heat pump and blanket’s kept us warm. Had a really great breather just reading books and sleeping! We would love to have stayed two weeks not two days đŸ„° I gather work is still being done on the property so look forward to under floor insulation as that would be the icing on the cake. Other than that all amenities were brilliant! Thanks for a great stay, the wine and the goodies ❀

Delightful location, comfy cottage

A better rural setting would be hard to find. A well-restored cottage provided a most enjoyable two night stay while we spent quality time with a seriously unwell brother. Thank you for a restful couple of nights for an elderly couple and their chauffeur daughter.

Peaceful and Serene

A well appointed, and very comfortable restored cottage in Raukawa. Super quiet, surrounded by rolling hills, and fantastic roads for road cycling. Great deck to have breakie or a glass of vino. Enjoy easy wifi, and SkyTV. If you're looking for a place away from the crowds, nature all around, and don't mind a little ride into town, then this is the place for you. Great friendly owners too!

Peace and quiet for Christmas

A very comfortable cottage with everything you need. Private and shaded made for a very relaxing few days. It is peaceful apart from local wildlife and a few cars going past (50-60m away from the cottage). The owners dogs are lovely and welcoming and, we found, very obedient. We will definitely be looking to return. Very close to Hastings. Excellent value for money.

100% Awesome place, awesome people

Beautiful cottage, absolutely pristine, with all that you need and more for a relaxing stay. Comfy beds, slept so well here. Made to feel so welcome by hosts Raewynn and Paul, who go above and beyond, two of the loveliest people you would wish to meet. The finishing touches were wonderful. Recommend this place 100%. so comfortable and peaceful

this cottage is way better than the pictures tell, we had a cold snap and the heat pump was efficient and effective to keep us all cosy. My parents are in their 80s and found the king single beds so comfy and restful. The queen bed is amazing also and so sleeping is restful. The kitchen is really well appointed and same with the bathroom and laundry. The owners are very nice and helpful if you need them. The surrounding area is extremely beautiful for bike rides and walks. I would go back again and consider this great value for money.

Perfect piece of paradise

We really enjoyed our stay here in what we would call a piece of paradise. Beautiful relaxing setting. Lovely clean cute cottage. Not far to drive to Hawkes Bay attractions. We felt very welcome. Owner of property was really lovely leaving us homemade loaf and honey. Answered all our questions promptly. We arrived late at night and Raewynne even kindly called us to make sure we had received the instructions on how to find property. Our children enjoyed playing with the little dog. We wished we could stay longer and would love to stay again.
