Elkhorn at the Copper King
This 3 bedroom, 2 bath historic home, built in the 1930's, has one of a kind charm. The Elkhorn has been completely updated, while carefully retaining all interior hand carved woodwork and trim. Relax on the spacious deck on the south side of the home, overlooking the mountain and river. The living room is equipped with a 60" flat screen TV, Blu Ray player and sound system, and each bedroom has a flat screen TV and Blu Ray player. Guests will also have access to the amenities provided at the Copper King Lodge, including the hot tub.
Clear and easy communication before arrival. Everything was as stated when we arrived so no need for communication during our stay. It is an ideal location for restaurants, shops and trails. We would definitely stay here again. So peaceful, so clean & cozy!
The "cabin" is absolutely amazing and quiet. Tons off space!, furnishing in every area were far beyond adequate and were comfortable. Appliances/kitchen utensils were state of the art, enormous and spotless. Individual heat controls and ceiling fans/lights in every area and each bedroom. Wall to wall windows on southern & eastern exposure = solar warmth, light and views. Lighting in every area was exceptional. Beautiful patio & furnishings (except gas grill which was a filthy mess). Do not let the totally unkept curb appeal of the entry jade your experience. Beware that there are absolutely no condiments or starter packs of any kind furnished!:( Toilet paper, soap, shampoo and tissues were furnished. No coffee, coffee filters, sugar, creamer, salt, pepper, napkins, paper towels, etc, etc. Pictures available.
there were people on the deck watering plants and watering grass while we were there/ no privacy
No privacy/ front in house cars/ people walking all day and night. We would have liked a little bit more privacy and River is not in front of house! You must walk around street down / sidewalk to get to river area!! After riding through the whole town of red river in our side by side and seen so many homes that are rentals that are actually has grass in front of it down to the river in front so the next time we visit we will look into a different type of rental with more privacy and river access.
We traveled from Texas with our 3 kids ages 6, 4, and 2 and we loved this house! It was perfect for our family, had everything we needed, and was the perfect place to rest after a long day of skiing! Red River was a wonderful and precious town and we will definitely be back!
Beautifully remodeled (while maintaining the history of this 1930's cabin) and CLEAN!! High quality bed and bath linens. A perfectly stocked kitchen. Beautiful summer flowers on the deck.
Cozy, historic cabin was the perfect place for us! Close to the river for walking and feeding the deer that came by daily. Lovely back deck for morning coffee and watching the hummingbirds...walking distance to everything! We met the property owner one evening and she took the time to share with us the history of the home which made our stay even more memorable. If you're looking for a very clean, historic cabin with all the modern updates needed for comfort..this is it! We would love to stay again!
We loved the cabin and its location. The uniqueness of the contents and history in the cabin was very enlightening. We enjoyed the wildlife that frequented the property. Everyone involved in the process was very helpful. I would tell others about the great place to stay.
We just spent three nights at one of the best cabins we have rented in Red River. This was our first time staying in town and we loved that the cabin was close to all things in town but you honestly didnât feel like you were staying in town. The patio is amazing and the cabin has some of the best furnishing I have seen so far in Red River. We will def be back to enjoy this cabin for a longer time next time. Thank you Clay for opening up your cabin to my family and my furry family as well.
We have such a wonderful time in this cabin! Our group consisted of 4 sisters and our 87- year-old Mother. We wanted to give her a weekend in the mountains since we are flatlanders. We enjoyed an unexpected snow from inside this cozy cabin. What a treat it was to have coffee and pancakes with a lovely view of snow falling in the mountains. The host was very nice and accommodating to all of our needs. We will most definitely stay here again!
Great cabin, close to town. Had everything we needed inside for a comfortable stay. Well taken care of and lots of upgrades yet still keeping most of the original wood in cabin! Other than the fireplace and hot tub being a fair distance away at the complex next door, if these were onsite it couldn't be any better!! Clay was very polite and helpful on the phone, as with the lady at the front desk at the lodge.
Thank you!
