The Hideout at Dexfield Park

Located just 20 kms west of Port Macquarie on the beautiful Mid North Coast of New South Wales, The Hideout is your perfect getaway for experiencing tranquility, relaxation or activity… up to you!

Port Macquarie, situated at the mouth of the Hastings River, has possibly the most favourable climate in NSW. There are wonderful beaches and for watersports enthusiasts there is jet boating, parasailing, deep sea fishing, scuba diving and beach and estuary fishing. Enjoy whalewatching cruises in season and a wide variety of river cruises or simply stand on the beach and watch the dolphins at play. If you are in the mood for something different, how about a camel ride along the beach? There are a number of vineyards around the area as well as a great boutique brewery. The area is a haven for koalas and they can be seen at the various wildlife parks or at the koala hospital in town. Port Macquarie boasts a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafes to suit every taste.

Nearby Wauchope is surrounded by blackbutt forest and is best known for the nearby Timbertown theme park. The town has a good range of shops, cafes and banks.

The Hideout is located at Dexfield Park, a 33 acre rural property close to Wauchope and is available to visitors to experience in whatever way they choose. The southern edge of the property borders a branch of the Hastings River and provides a perfect spot for fishing from the bank or simply enjoying the serenity of the river. The property has its own private airstrip. However this is only used by the owners or visitors who have received permission to land. Therefore, there will be little to disturb your quiet enjoyment of The Hideout. The owners live adjacent to The Hideout and are available to answer questions or deal with maintenance issues.

Your accommodation is a modern 2 bedroomed, self-contained cottage that has been designed and constructed to a high standard. One bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed and a single bed. Quality linen and towels are supplied. The spacious decks and verandah offer a great space to dine, enjoy a glass of wine or just take in the sunset and admire the passing seasons and wildlife. Over 80 bird species have been spotted here either resident or visiting.

To further enhance your stay, you may choose to take a dip in the 15m solar heated saltwater pool (warm months only). The pool is situated in front of our house. We offer guests priority access. Our little town of Wauchope is 8 minutes drive away and offers a good supermarket and many independent shops. A BBQ is available.

We welcome children and small well-behaved dogs. There is ample car parking available.
