Dear guest, Thank you for staying with us, and we appreciate your feedback. I want to point out that not all of our room categories have a bathtub. Only our residence, junior and main suites have the bathtub amenity. Therefore, if you booked a room category below that then there is no bathtub. Best regards IH Guest Relations

It's difficult to describe adequately in words. The location itself is very central, and as soon as we entered the hotel we were transported into a wonderfully welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The place is very clean and the staff is warm and extremely helpful. We were accommodated on multiple requests. The inside of the hotel has the most character of any hotel we've been in. We've traveled extensively through Europe, North America and Africa and in terms of sheer personality and uniqueness this hotel has displaced our hitherto current favorite, the African Pride Crystal Towers in Cape Town to number two! Liked pretty much everything about it. Our room was double bedded, the bathroom had 3 good sized separate sections with two sinks, a lovely European style bathtub and a modern luxury rain shower area. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent as well, especially the grilled potatoes. The front of the hotel features an active ship yard and a view of the city. Our only slight challenge was finding it...the only signage was in the front of the hotel hidden from the only road that leads to it, typical of Icelandic restraint...!

Great location and helpful staff!

The hotel is right by the marina which was close to some very nice restaurants and only blocks from city center. The staff was most helpful, friendly and highly conversant in English and very helpful on suggestions for meals, touring and things to see. The staff was the highlight making our visit there delightful. The rooms were clean, eco-friendly and comfortable though on the small side (as is the norm in Europe and Iceland). The hotel had a nice lobby with a bar, restaurant and sitting area that was comfortable to meet, hangout and relax.

Buyer beware!

First they try to make up for room inadequacies with a large and open lobby. Surprisingly the lobby restrooms had doors on them that closed, unlike the guest rooms with slidong doors that don't close. Housekeepers entered our room and stole belongings even though a do not disturb sign was up. Managment said the housekeepers thought we had checked out even though we had paid for 3 more nights. They did not check with the front desk. Odd but some of our property was in a locker and could only be retrieved when the particular housekeeper came in..... Maybe a personal locker? In the end they only returned some of our belongings and didnt seem to really care about the problem. I highly recommend not using rhis hotel. .

Best place we stayed

Pros: Everything
Cons: Luggage trolleys (I didn't see any)
Location: Things are so close to each other here we could walk to everything but this area was fun for museums, harbor restaurants and shops, and water.
We stayed in three hotels and one apartment in Iceland (not all in Reykjavik) and this was the best. Comfortable, fun, convenient, quiet and spotless. Their best feature is their staff. Lovely people all. We particularly appreciated "Terri" (she told us to call her that cause we couldn't quite get the pronunciation of her real name). The desk staff graciously allowed us to move into our room early and we went down to the incredible breakfast buffet and Terri was the host. She is a gem of good humor and graciousness. I felt like she was having us to her home for a meal. Loved the entire trip and the stay here was a great start.

Stayed in 2014 and returned in 2015

Pros: Food, service, and location (right across the street is the Sea Baron restaurant which is an excellent spot to eat fish.
Cons: Rooms are small but cozy
Location: As stated above, a few minute walk to the shopping center in Reykjavik, good parking (free), great views of the harbor, nice deli next door main level
We've stayed at the Marina Hotel in 2014 and 2015. It is owned by Icelandair so the staff is very professional and the rooms although somewhat small are neat, clean, and well taken care of. It is right off of the pier so an easy walk to the shops and restaurants situated there. Food is good and access to the main street of Reykjavik is a short walk. You can request rooms with balcony facing the marina (for a great view) or streetside.

Nice hotel

Pros: At least they could have provided shampoo for ladies.
It is good place to stay because the staff is very courteous and close to city center, But biggest flaw is that bathroom is very small at this price. .

Loved Everything About Our Stay!

Pros: The harbor location had grand views with an easy walk to Reykjavik shops, restaurants and attractions. Staff friendly, breakfast generous; decor zany.
My college-age granddaughter and I were first-time visitors to Iceland. This hotel was welcoming, comfortable, well-located and a perfect (albeit a bit quirky but fun) "Home away from Home"! We'd definitely stsay there again.
