Open for about 4 months, working out the kinks
Pros:It was clean and new
Cons:The communication between the front desk and guests could be better and the thermostat on the water heater could be turned up a notch.
Location:Central Wisconsin offers a lot of outdoor activities and there is a nice county museum about 3 miles east of the motel.
Cobblestone is new to me as a chain. I asked how many properties there are and was told "about 75" so this is my first experience with them. Since Barron, WI isn't a very big place, lodging selections are limited and I suspect that the Cobblestone Inn is the nicest choice from the limited selection. The place is new and I'd call it a "basic" accommodation. If there was a breakfast, it wasn't offered to us and we didn't see a breakfast room or a pool. They had a public computer and printer in the lobby and I understand they have a exercise facility but I didn't see it. We stayed for two nights in a king room and almost everything worked as expected. The only system that wasn't up to par was the hot water. It just wasn't very hot. The bed linens and towels were clean and fresh and the housekeeping folks did a fine job. All in all it was a pleasant experience and we'd stay there again.
