From the first moment of arriving and being greeted by the staff. We were shown to our room and they made us feel very at home. The staff serving breakfast are super friendly and like to have fun. They make great coffee drinks to order. Conveniently located in the Trastevere area it 's a hidden gem.

Hotel Santa Maria is the PERFECT place to stay while in Rome. You are away from the craziness of all the people visiting Rome. The location is tucked away on a side street in Trastevere. When you walk through their gate, you are taken into the serene atmosphere of this well taken care of hotel. Service and staff were spot on. You will have the BEST Aperol Spritz at their daily Happy Hour. Will definitely be going back on my next visit to Rome.

This was my second stay at the Hotel Santa Maria. The location, Trastevere, is perfect. My wife and I are 65 and had no trouble walking to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Colosseum, and other areas we wanted to visit. The neighborhood restaurants (many) are excellent, and attract more Romans than tourists--particularly on weekends. Takeaway food is close and excellent. Trastevere feels more like a small Italian town than a part of a big city. The area around the hotel is somewhat of a party zone for younger people, but noise is not a problem because the hotel is off the street and behind locked gates. The courtyard surrounded by the hotel rooms is shaded by a grove of productive orange trees, and we had breakfast there each morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful (directions, taxis, and general advice). The rooms are not fancy, but are nice. Overall, a classy place for the moderate price. I would recommend the hotel to anyone, and think it would be particularly nice for children (safe area to play away from traffic and great breakfast).

This hotel was just amazing. The location is very good in the centre of Trasteverre. The staff from the front desk, to the breakfast staff and the Happy Hour staff were all amazing. Breakfast was included and had a great variety of items. The first night we had great Aperol and Limoncello Spritz's. The rooms themselves are pretty basic but you really don't spend much time in them. The courtyard was shaded and cooling. We had wonderful and very quiet sleeps. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks.

We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the breakfast, happy hour and friendliest staff. Reception guys were always so helpful with our travel plans and booking reservations for dinner and even with our train tickets. Wonderful place to stay ,,, and work. It really shows.

This is a beautiful special property in the fast pace Rome area. 3-star Hotel but felt and performed better like 4-stars. Exceptional staff and people! Will return.
