Le Chevalier - Saint-sernin-du-plain

Bernadette opens the doors of an authentic 19th-century winemaker's house of character, a longère-style property (a family property preserved and converted into a rural gîte) nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac, bordering a lane and meadows, a stone's throw from the vineyards, in the heart of a typical small rural wine-growing hamlet nestled at the foot of the renowned Mont Rome, accessible by a marked footpath (the highest point in the territory at 547m, protected in the Natura 2000 Zone for its rich ecosystems, a renowned climbing site and a splendid viewpoint for its exceptional view extending from the Saône to the Autunois region), facing Mont de Rème (in reference to the founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus), not far from the "Montagne des Trois Croix" classified as a "natural park" (offering an exceptional 360° panorama). Tranquility in the heart of the gently rolling vineyards, nestled among the bucolic vineyards of Couchois, bordering the Maranges, in a magnificent landscaped setting blending viticulture, agriculture, and unspoiled nature, between vine-covered hillsides, fields, hedged meadows, and wild forests (perfect for relaxing walks or mountain biking). This spacious cottage retains its old-world charm. A truly unique vintage and retro atmosphere awaits. A south-facing balcony overlooks a 400m² enclosed garden, beautifully landscaped with flowers and featuring a large vegetable garden cultivated by the owners (free access, with the option to pick fresh seasonal vegetables during your stay). Composition: Detached house. Wi-Fi (fiber optic). Electric heating. First-floor apartment (accessible via an external staircase): kitchen, living/dining room, 2 bedrooms (one with a 160x200cm double bed and the other with two 140x190cm double beds), shower room, separate WC. Balcony, bicycle storage, carport (2 spaces), and private parking. Enclosed grounds (400m²) including a barn and the owners' vegetable garden (use of the property and access by the owners are possible). A 100% "vintage" & "retro" spirit, a complete change of scenery just steps from the vineyards! Authentic 19th-century winemaker's residence, converted into a holiday home, nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac - on a 400m² enclosed property adorned with a large vegetable garden with free access - in the heart of a typical small wine-growing hamlet (adjacent to the commune of Saint-Sernin-du-Plain), 6.5 km from the picturesque medieval & commercial town of Couches (home to a mini-supermarket & the sumptuous castle of the Queen of France, Marguerite of Burgundy, dating from the 13th century) & 10 km from the charming spa & wine-growing town of Santenay (with a casino, numerous leisure facilities & many amenities). In the heart of the rolling vineyards of Couchois, at the crossroads of the world-renowned vineyards of Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Côtes Chalonnaises, a splendid landscaped setting mixing bucolic vineyard slopes, meadows & beautiful wild forests (largely protected in various ZNIEFF & Natura 2000 zones for its rich ecosystems), next to the sublime valley of Vaux ("the little Switzerland of Chalonnaise") & the famous "Val d'Or" of Mercurey (leader of the crus of the Côte Chalonnaise, one of the oldest AOCs in France). An exceptionally privileged location adjacent to the Romanesque church circuit, ideally situated on the "Route des Grands Vins" (which extends into the illustrious and nearby "Route des Grands Crus" passing through the legendary wine villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault, etc.), the superb GRP "Au Fil des Vignobles et Vallées" (connected to the GR7, GR76 & GR137) and several marked hiking trails (complemented by various "green walks" crisscrossing the area between vineyards and unspoiled nature, to be explored on foot or by mountain bike), 4 km from the "du Morvan aux Vignobles" Green Way, which runs alongside the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 4 km from the "La Voie des Vignes" Green Way (a 36 km route through the vineyards of Burgundy's Grand Cru wines, the most prestigious in the world), 7 km from the The Canal du Centre Green Way (a navigable route to discover by boat or on foot / two river ports less than 10 km away) runs alongside the EuroVelo 6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo" cycle route, and includes 14 km of the "Voie des Étangs" cycle route. Located in the heart of the Chalonnais region, on the border of the Côte d'Or and the Beaune region, at the crossroads of the Autunois and the Morvan (and its Regional Natural Park). Ideally located for exploring the region: 6 km from the medieval village of Nolay (with a lake on site), 8 km from the seven menhirs of Epoigny (one of the most important megalithic sites in Burgundy), 14 km from Chagny (renowned for its Sunday morning gourmet market), 22 km from Le Creusot (home to the Combes amusement park / Creusot TGV train station 25 km away), 26 km from Beaune, 29 km from Autun ("City of Art and History", boasting an invaluable heritage spanning over 2,000 years of human occupation), 32 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (also designated a "City of Art and History"), and 53 km from the famous Gallo-Roman archaeological site of Bibracte, a designated "Grand Site de France". The perfect base for a rejuvenating and affordable stay!

Choisissez bien votre saison
