Spacious Victorian Home 2nd floor apartment
Recently renovated entire second floor of a 150 year old Victorian home located in a quiet small town, within driving distance of numerous mountain attractions. Included is a private balcony and a large grass yard, play area, gazebo with gas grill and fireplace.
We unfortunately had an emergency that took us to the ER the day of our stay, so we were unable to enjoy the property as much as we had originally intended. However, it was a very comfortable place for all of us to lay our heads down at the end of a very stressful day. The property itself is beautiful and quiet and I enjoyed my morning coffee on the upstairs balcony deck. Property owners go the little extra mile with oatmeal available along with the coffee k-cups. Home was very clean with plenty of additional linens if needed.
We enjoyed our stay in the 2nd story apartment of a beautiful victorian house just a few miles north of Grantsville. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the location is fine for hikes on the Great Allegheny Passage trail, visits to Fallingwater or New Germany State Park.
My husband and I loved the apartment and property (older Victorian home on a large lot with beautiful features like an arbor), the neighborhood it was in (large lots and lovely homes), and the entire area. The surrounding towns and landscape was mostly green rolling hills and mountains with charming towns sprinkled in. It is usually cooler than others places, even up north. We enjoyed the cooler weather for the end of May. The owners were so kind and friendly.
If you're looking for a comfortable, cozy, beautiful Victorian home to vacation in, this is the place to be! The surrounding area is quiet and picturesque. The main bedroom has a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. The house is stocked with the essentials. This is the perfect place for a getaway!
Finding a place for seven people, five of them under 12 years old, is a challenge when traveling. But our stay at Ord Street Inn was just what we needed. There were plenty of places to sleep with blankets and pillows provided for our large group. There were even activities for the children the next morning like swings, tetherball, and a play set before we continued out journey. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. The hosts were so gracious and we had a wonderful stay.
Built around 1885 this charming home ,previous of a very large family, provides charm, safety, tranquility with modern amenities.
You can see and read about the history throughout.
I love everything about this place, inc. the town. Loved the fireplace in the LR. My favorite is the balcony with the hammock swing, overlooking the snow and the grape arbor. I could live here. Our husky LOVES the snow!
We had a great overnight stay. The house is conveniently located about 8mi from New Germany State Park where there is excellent XC Skiing. We really appreciated how nice the home was, especially accepting dogs. The tap water is very tasty and clean. There was a bit of an odor to the main bedroom carpet (which is bound to happen allowing dogs). I found the back bedroom to be odor free which allowed me to minimize a runny nose and cough that kept me from sleeping in the main room. Overall our whole family was very happy with the house and would return in the future!
Exactly as advertised! Spacious and well provisioned. Conveniently located near Maryland's New Germany State Park where I XC ski. I will stay here again whenever I go skiing there!!
Everything was exactly as it was advertised, and then some. It was even more spacious than we had anticipated, and it fit our needs perfectly for our family of five and two dogs. Check-in was a breeze and our location was unique and interesting.
We travel a lot and this location is equidistant to two destinations. We needed a relaxing place to stay for the weekend. This was perfect and clean and safe. We will use this location again. Loved it!
Nice quite location with outstanding outdoor area. We had teens with us and really enjoyed the outdoor amenities. The grape arbor was so charming and full of grapes. We couldn't find any sheets for the couch but made due with what they had. It looked like the extra blankets needed laundered.
We chose this property since it is close to my family and was very convenient for visiting. It was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. We loved sitting on the back porch in the morning while drinking coffee, and also took advantage of the gas grill in the gazebo. I would stay here again in the future
Our stay in Salisburg was very nice. The neighborhood is quiet and people in the area are very friendly. The rooms are large with lots of opportunity to be comfortable.
The kitchen has lots of dishes and utensils for basic food prep which we made use of for breakfast and on dinner. We did see a few black ants but it was not an infestation.
The livingroom smart TV worked great to access our personal account to view a movie.
This rental is on the second floor with a somewhat narrow stairway and unsteady hand railing which can be a safety concern.
The window AC units were not yet installed, but we were away during the daytime and the nights were cool so the window dans worked well. Unfortunately the window in the larger bedroom would not open (it was screwed shut for some reason) and even if we could open it, there was not screen. The screen was missing from other windows as well.
A few of the double hung windows do open properly (very heavy like the counterweight is not working) and some do not have screens.
The bathroom is functional and good for the two of us, but some coordination may be required if 5 or 6 people stay here. The added sinks in the hall outside the bathroom are a plus. There is not many places to hang bathtowels.
Overall a nice place, but it needs some repairs to the windows and hand railing.
