Medieval Tower experience with Panoramic Rooftop, San Gimignano

If you are looking for a unique experience in the heart of San Gimignano, this is the place for you! With its 42 mt of height, Torre Salvucci Maggiore is one of the medieval town's famous towers and today the only one turned into a vertically-spread accommodation divided into 11 floors for a total of 143 steps. A magical setting unlike any other. The tower can hosts couples or small groups of up to 3 people. At the top, the panoramic terrace awaits for you with an axtraordinary 360° city view.

Once owned in the 12th Century by the Salvucci family —wealthy medieval spice and textile merchants— the tower has been brought back to life following a careful historical and conservative restoration and today it opens its doors to travelers from all over the world: each floor of this imposing building corresponds to a different an equipped room, making the tower a real vertical house. The stairs are steep and not particularly comfortable, but they undoubtedly contribute to creating an out of the ordinary and truly unique guests experience. From the private panoramic rooftop, you can admire sunrises, sunsets, and starry skies, surrounded by other towers soaring towards the sky and an incredibly breathtaking view above San Gimignano.

At arrival all guests can enjoy a delicious welcome basket which is included in the price. Linen and towels are supplied, there is free Wi-Fi (on the 1st and 2nd floor of the tower) and an iron and ironing board have been recently added.

The accommodation has a new air conditioner (A/C Unit) located near the foldaway bed on the 6th floor, and some fans on the other floors. Instead, heating is centralized.

THE TOWER IS DEVIDED INTO 11 FLOORS
Each floor doesn't exceed 12sqm; this is how it is structured internally:

- 1st floor: kitchenette with bright living room and Smart Tv (you can log in with your own Amazon Prime and Netflix account)
- 2nd floor: mezzanine with a coffee table and two small leather sofas
- 3rd floor: bathroom with shower, hairdryer
- 4th floor: pink design table with two chairs
- 5th floor: two single bunk beds (each 90x190 cm)
- 6th floor: queen foldaway bed (120x190 cm)
- 7th floor: passage way floor, small bookshelf
- 8th floor: half bathroom (wc and sink)
- 9th floor: corridor, passage way steps
- 10th floor: a second kitchen just under the rooftop (no table/chairs)
- 11th floor: panoramic rooftop equipped with table and chairs, with incredible 360° views above San Gimignano

During summer, upon request and subject to availability (with extra charge) a private chef can cook for you an exclusive dinner based on typical Tuscan dishes, served directly on the terrace at the top of the tower. The service can be booked with a minimum notice of 7 days.

Useful information:
- There are no connecting doors between the tower's different levels
- If notified in advance, we can consider requests to accommodate a party of four
- Considering the tower's central location—and despite walls over 1.5 meters thick—you may hear some noise from the square below in the morning or evening due to street-cleaning vehicles, crews setting up scaffolding for events or concerts, or the Thursday morning market.. so if you are a light sleeper, keep these points in mind
- We do not recommend staying here all those who suffer from claustrophobia, vertigo, or have trouble going up/down the stairs
- Please also note that the tower is not suitable for those seeking modern comforts or luxury, and for stays with children under 12 years old
- The accommodation has neither a washing machine nor a dryer, but you can find a coin-operated laundry 5 minutes' walk away at the end of Via Cannicci

Where to park:
The tower is located in the heart of the historic centre, within the town's pedestrian zone and restricted traffic area (ZTL). Parkings are available just outside the walls; the most recommended options are: the P3 Bagnaia car park (video-monitored, paid parking at €15.00/day, an 8–10 minute walk from the tower) or free parking along Via Cappelletti (a residential area with free spaces marked by white lines—just be sure to check the street-cleaning signs). From there, it is a 10–12 minute walk to the tower. The street is slightly uphill but nothing too challenging; we still recommend traveling light and bringing with you, if possible, backpacks or small transportable luggage.

City tax €2,50 per person per night, requested for the first 5 nights or less. Children up to 14 are free of charge
