Very very nice staff, very helpful .very clean rooms. Very central location, walking at night is not that safe. Towels were bit old. We will definitely stay there again if we go there. breakfast was good.

Check in was very easy and the gentleman checking us in was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms (we rented 3) had everything we needed and were very clean. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The outdoor facilities were beautiful and had a nice dining area.

Old World Charm

I used to walk past Hotel Santo Tomas every day. I would look through the gate at that pretty jellybean swimming pool and think, “one day I’ll stay here.“ 20 years later here I am. It is charming. The staff is friendly. All of which makes up for the fact that it is an old building. The wooden floor creeks a little bit. Well worth my two- night stay.

Great place to stay if needing a San Jose central location. Had to stay near Clinica Biblica Hospital so price was good and Staff and owner were beyond great. The particular area is conveniently close to SJ Centro and all that goes with that, the only negative is the issues that come with big Cities everywhere in the world. Sketchy at night, great in the daytime. Hotel had secure parking and great amenities for a comfortable stay. If coming from the warm beach areas, don't forget to pack warm clothes. 28c lows in Guancaste, 17c in San Jose. But the cool hot tub fixed that nicely!

Good location, large room, pretty hotel

Very nice large room with a balcony, the pool was nice to relax in, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the inclusive breakfast was simple but enjoyable. The hotel is a very interesting building. We had a very pleasant stay here. The location was good for us, we could walk around San Jose from here.

We love the features of this gorgeous hotel. The owner was super helpful and friendly. We were very pleased with our room amenities and the pool/spa area. Breakfast is a basic, but nourishing bonus!

Back street oasis!

Lovely small back street hotel which feels like an oasis in the bustling city. Easy walking distance to all the main sights. Helpful staff on reception. cafe and bars on the doorstep and a handy store for the essentials around the corner.

The property is average and near a shady side of town. I would of given the property a better review if they would of given me an extra 15-20 minutes to check out but they wanted to charge an extra $70 for the two rooms. If I would received the extra 15-20 minutes I would of considered that good service but they get average at best. There is also only a bar of soap for hygiene. No shampoo or conditioner like most above average lodges. Check in is easy though.

Lovely bfast at the pool area; helpful staff. Interesting and comfortable accommodations, although our room was on an air shaft. Area is dead at night and we were told to take a taxi anywhere. Cafe Rojo down the street great Vietnamese. Only uber eats if you arrive after 8:30.
