The property is undergoing some renovations so there were some obvious signs of that. Our room was large but felt oddly empty and the mattresses were exposed and not in great condition. In my opinion they needed an area rug in the room to warm it up - hardwood floors although pretty were just a bit cold feeling. No art or anything on the walls. It felt incomplete. But the hotel is located in a great downtown area w lovely shops and restaurants.

Charming Hotel with Beautiful Rooms – But the Gym Needs Attention This hotel has a lot of charm and character. Many areas feel fresh and newly renovated, and the overall design is stylish and tasteful. The rooms are a real highlight – beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and equipped with exceptionally well-maintained, modern bathrooms that truly stand out. Some floors seem a bit more dated than others, but this doesn’t take away from the overall atmosphere – it actually adds a touch of charm. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. The main downside is the fitness area: unfortunately, it’s not really usable. Several machines are broken, the equipment is outdated, and the space feels neglected and unclean. This is definitely an area that needs urgent improvement. Overall, a lovely hotel with great comfort and aesthetics – with a functional and clean gym, it could be close to perfect

This is a very old hotel. The entrance to hotel looks very dark and old. From their entrance window you can see old chairs and mattresses piled up on top of each other. The hotel needs a lot of improvement. The carpets on the corridor are old and look dirty. The elevator is old and makes sound. Each time I took it I was scared to be stucked in it. The room was very dark. Smelled old. The room was painted including ceiling dark green color. The furniture is old. One of the beds had missing supporting legs. The bathroom was renovated with top notched amenities. I smelled the bed sheet after seeing spots on the bed sheet. According to me it wasn’t clean but I wasnt 100% to complain. The smell might be due to comforter. I am not sure if they wash after each stay. I and my husband told each other in the morning that we were itchy. I will not stay in this hotel again. The hotel has a big prospective if they do the right renovation. I was about to forget to write that the phone to front desk is always ringing busy. I went directly to the front desk. He told me that he will call the IT in the morning.

The hotel at the time of our stay was going under renovations. It had been awhile since we last stayed here. Central location to the coast, Hearst castle, and wine country. We enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine that came with the room during our stay.

Overall pleasant stay

Overall experience was pleasant. It was currently in renovations so some areas were still being worked on. Room was clean with no issues. The only drawback was ice machine was missing from the floor which I assume was due to the construction. Would stay again.

Once the entire property is renovated it will be amazing. The carpet in our room was definitely in need of some tlc. The hotel is quaint and the bakery downstairs is amazing!!
