MAKING MEMORIES WITH AN UNFORGETTABLE VIEW !

The "Irish Hills House" at the top of Prefumo Canyon has the Best View in SLO with stunning 180-degree panoramas stretching from ocean, valley, mountain and cityscape. The view is famous and tourists and locals alike stop at the vista point turn off. The Irish Hills House is above the Prefumo vista point, at the top of the mountain and has a fantastic view!

Our pet friendly vacation rental is conveniently located to 15 minutes to SLO (DT and Cal Poly), 15 minutes to the ocean (Avila Beach) and half way between LA & SF. We are near wonderful activities, wineries and experiences.

The most common guest comment, "The photos do not do the views justice!". You can get to know the property at @bourbonandcider (your four legged Golden Retriever Assistant Hosts) and @visitvista (the official IG) - we post daily!

Irish Hills House has two bedrooms upstairs with dormer ceilings, one is small with a floor queen bed, ideal for children or a short adult. The other bedroom has two queen beds. In addition, there is a king bed downstairs (not private) in the common living area. The space can accommodate 8.

We store two additional queen size futons and a 'Pack n' Play' for babies. There are bathrooms on each level, a fully outfitted kitchen and a large outdoor deck. There are great views from every window. Fully equipped kitchen for family dining. I think the kitchen window must have one of the best views ever for washing dishes! :)

We are on the famous Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy. 1). The coastal retreat halfway between LA and SF. Our road (Prefumo Canyon) turns into See Canyon and leads to Avila Beach. There is a short 15 minute scenic drive to downtown SLO (Thursday Night Farmer’s Market, restaurants, nightlife etc.) and beautiful Avila Beach (spectacular beach, pier, shops, wineries, etc). Famous Avila and Sycamore Mineral Springs offer a therapeutic experience in a group setting or privately in secluded tubs set amongst the tree-canopied hillside. You are in a serene and peaceful setting, but not too far from all the action!

We are on 8 mountain top acres with world class views, hikes and wildlife right outside your door. Barbecue, share a meal and wine on the deck or picnic down by the raised garden beds. We invite our guests to enjoy fresh vegetables and eggs from the gardens and henhouse, so help yourself! In addition to our chickens, we have a pet tortoise named 'Walter' (Everyone loves Walter) and a Koi Pond in front of the Irish Hills House.

The vacation rental is well suited to romantic & girls getaways, family friendly & Cal Poly parents stays, adventure seekers & coastal journeys. We love dogs here!

This is a dedicated VRBO, which is professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival with clean and fresh, sheets and towels. The house is maintained in pristine condition in preparation to offer a 'hotel-clean' experience amongst breathtaking mountain-top views in nature and tranquility.

The Irish Hills House is across a deck from our main home. We respect boundaries and the experience is intimate and free of distraction.

A magical and unforgettable stay

Dear Anna and Ryan, We really loved our stay. Thank you for accepting our request. The place is magical. A piece of heaven. The view is amazing. We can actually see the sea from the balcony (when the fog is away). Early mornings were exceptional on the balcony. No words to describe better than to see and to live for a few days. Organization was perfect. The apartment is fully equipped and very comfortable. Thank you for your warm welcome. Anna's dinner was delicious. We were really touched by small details, like chocolate on our pillows. We had the occasion to taste your "wines". Fresh organic eggs were delicious. Our children had fun visiting regularly the chicken and feeding them. They also visited regularly Walter and gave food to the fish. Family walks in the region were also great. We took pictures of almost everything to remember this exceptional stay. We definitely recommend your house and without hesitation. Warm thanks.

We loved it!

The views are incredible. The location is perfect for Pismo, Avila beaches, hiking, SLO and whatever else you like to do. Ryan the host is always in range to take care of any other needs you may have or insight to help make sure you have a great vacation. Our girls loved hanging out with Bourbon and Cider and feeding Walter the tortiose. The place is very quiet, minimal vehicle traffic and awesome views! We loved it!

Family Girls Weekend Stay- Okay

My Mom, Aunt and Sister stayed here while on a weekend girls trip. Ryan was nice. Communicated with us prior to arrival. Upon arrival he greeted and showed us around the property and shared his contact information. The place was as listed, however needed a good cleaning. There was mold in the downstairs bathroom that could use some attention. Outdoor sitting area needed some help. Wood barstools and counter were rough due to sun damage. There were plenty of floor fans throughout that were very much appreciated. It was concerning that we didn’t see any smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. I realize we were in the country but there were definitely creatures in the walls, upstairs. The upstairs shower curtain wasn’t keeping the water in the shower but we informed Ryan of this and he was immediately responsive to our communication and was going to work on a solution.

My wife and I spent 30 days in CA and stayed in 6 different VRBO’s as we journeyed down the California Coastline. Ryan (and Bourbon Cider) were the absolute most gracious hosts. The property is astounding. I took 50 pictures and none of them live up to the beauty you’ll see with your eyes. The home is perfect for a family with beds to sleep at least 6. Very well appointed. The kitchen is fully equipped and the view from both the kitchen sink window and dining room area is so picturesque, it could be in a book. I absolutely loved this property. It’s about 5 miles up the mountain, and a bit remote from town, but well worth the tranquility. And SLO is my favorite town to visit on this trip. Being a college town, PLENTY of restaurants and shopping / things to do. A MUST stay. I will visit again. Total relaxation.

Heavenly views

I can't speak highly enough of this stay. Firstly, the photos do not even do the view justice; it is better. Expect that you will wake up above a beautiful cloud inversion nearly every morning, watching the sun set over the mountains with beautiful different colors every day. Easy nearby hiking is abundant, featuring beautiful bluff trails, mountains, or rolling hills. We visited in April, and the weather was consistent and beautiful; it truly felt heavenly. Secondly, Ryan's (and Bourbon and Cider's) thoughtfulness as a host is unparalleled; he is rapidly responsive to questions but will afford you as much privacy as you wish. If you wish to, he is wonderful to get to know.

This is a one bedroom legally speaking. The view is gorgeous and true to the photos, but the set up is not. There is only one legal bedroom. Another bed is placed in a windowless room with a slanted ceiling, and the large king is in the middle of the living/dining area. Fortunately my friends are close and didn’t mind too much, but this could be tough for some groups. The host is nice and the location is very cool if you are up for a bit of a drive, but the listing should be changed for accuracy.

So relaxing!

We loved staying at this place over Christmas. Ryan was so helpful in getting us settled and the place is just as described. Kitchen is fully stocked - I love to cook and had everything I needed. Really great spot to get away from it all!

Great views, just needs update to description

The site has great views, a well supplied spice rack and kitchen supplies, and Ryan is an attentive host. However, the property is not correctly advertised. Our party required 3 bedrooms (enclosed rooms with doors, not part of the common space) and the property just has 2. The king sized bed is part of the dinning room/living room area. One of the bedrooms upstairs has a dormer ceiling which was challenging for our tall friend as was the sloping wall in the upstairs bathroom.

Three fog trip

This was certainly a mountaintop getaway! The photos of the views did not exaggerate. The property is about a 15-20 min drive up the mountain but well worth it. We were five friends (2 couples, one single) traveling with three dogs and it was very hard to find a VRBO that would accommodate our pets. But the owner, Ryan, and his sweet dogs Bourbon and Cider welcomed us all. Ryan was very friendly and helpful before and throughout our stay. The house was one of two rental units on the property, and Ryan lives in the main house, so is readily available for any questions. The house was very clean and well stocked. We had everything we needed. Laundry was available upon request of the code.The upstairs bedroom had two queen beds, and there was another queen bed in an alcove. There was a king-sized bed on the main living level. There were two full baths. There was plenty of space for our group, and would also be great for large families. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this incredible property.

Pros and Cons - Not 3 bedrooms

Pros: -Incredible views -Gracious host -Quiet and peaceful -Dog friendly -Hot water -Games and playing cards Cons: -Misleading advertising - it is NOT 3 bedrooms. One of the "bedrooms" is a bed in the main common area next to the kitchen table....no privacy and not a bedroom which was very inconvenient for us. We would have not rented this VRBO had we known this was the case. The other "bedroom" is a mattress on a floor in a small room with no window. -Not super convenient to downtown SLO but was a trade off with the incredible views. Could be an issue for someone if they are not comfortable navigating long, windy roads. -Low ceilings upstairs in bedroom and bathroom due to the slope of the roof - if you are tall you will likely have challenges with the layout -Furniture needs updating -Kitchen needs a deep clean - sticky surfaces where glasswear is stored and some ants (common in remote, secluded areas but still should be addressed)

Ryan is an Excellent Host! Spectacular views!

We booked this gorgeous unit for a birthday weekend celebration. It was perfect-secluded, private, well appointed (we’re cooks), with breathtaking views. If you want a better than home “stay-in-cation” this place is for you!

Gorgeous SLO home!

Wow is all I can say. Ryan was a fabulous host! The home is very well kept, clean and had everything you may need for your stay. Kitchen is fully stocked if you’d like to cook and bathrooms even have soap/shampoo if you need it. Lots of space and very comfy for our family of 5. Outside there is a lot of land with chickens, a garden and the most beautiful views! It’s literally at the top of the mountain and feels so peaceful and serene. We will def visit again if we’re ever in the area. Lots of stores, restaurants and amenities about 15mins from the home at the bottom of the mountain as well. Beautiful home for a family vacay and magical memories. Thanks again Ryan, Cider & Bourbon! ❀

Fun stay

The house is on top of a hill that has an amazing view. So good to wake up and watch the hills and Morro bay appear as the sun rose and clouds melted away. Very comfortable with everything we needed. Ryan was wonderful and welcoming.

Beautiful views, highly recommend

This was such a great place to stay for friends and family. Location’s not too far from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s & Target so that you can easily grocery shop before heading up the mountain. Very spacious for the six of us that stayed for the weekend. Ryan was great with communicating and quick to respond with whatever we needed. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and would not hesitate to book here again.
