There's a restaurant on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. WiFi is free in public spaces. OYO 1030 Nak Hotel also features tour/ticket assistance, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and laundry facilities. Self parking is free.
the room was dirty, couldn't see out of the windows for dirt and the surfaces were covered in dust. Panels were falling off the lift and the carpets were badly worn. It looked like the place was in the midst of a large restoration so things might improve. It's in a good location close to the waterfront and there is a very good restaurant on the top floor. Staff were very helpful. Might be worth looking at in six months time but certainly not at the moment
Very clean and beautiful. The service was quick and useful. The location is central and there is a good cafe next door. They provide free daily newspapers. A good hotel.
OK for a quick stay, the breakfast makes up for it
Nice heritage building with cool artifacts in the main lobby. Included breakfast at the cafe was a hit. The rooms them selves are old, simple, and no wifi. Good for 1-2 nights stay, but no the best
This hotel has great personality. The decor makes it feel like a special place and the rooftop bar and restaurant are not to be missed (a bit pricey, but definitely worth a visit for a sundowner).
The staff at were very polite and helped us arrange an inexpensive ride to the airport.
My only complaint would be that there is no wi-fi in the rooms, but the connection in the lobby is strong so this didnât pose too much of a problem.
I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Sandakan. The sheets are clean and had a good thread count. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There a few items that need attention: the corridor needs a fresh paint, the shower head needs to be fixed
Positives the roof top dining/bar has good food and a good selection of drinks the room was spacious and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Negatives the bathroom and plumbing was a nightmare overall for what you pay not a great choice better to pay the extra and stay at the 4 seasons or save a few dollars and choose one of the hostels and just pop in here for a drink and something to eat
Very happy with our stay ,hotel centrally located close to transport and the wharf, buses to sipilok for orangutan right across the street and a short ride to the airport. Breakfast was even included although not mentioned with bookings I think all guests get breakfast with very good coffee or tea but we love the coffee. Plenty of good neon lights for reading in the room. Roof top bar with beautiful view is great have a beer or have a piece of cake and enjoy the view in the evening, their air conditioned cafe is clean and serve all kinds of dishes ,local and western. Staff are friendly and helpful and we have a room with a Seaview too, nice and quiet. Right next to the Sunday market and we really enjoyed the local fruits and seeing all kinds of local things for sale like live horseshoe crabs apparently for medicinal purposes, locals are friendly. We highly recommend this hotel.
We really enjoyed this place. The decor was fun and interesting, and the room was big, airy and comfortable. As they were not busy they kindly upgraded our room without windows to a room with windows and sea view. The breakfast is fantastic in the cool cafe downstairs, but the booking doesn't even say it includes breakfast (NAK - you should show this on your bookings - it is a great selling point!) The restaurant on the rooftop is cool (used mainly by the rich kids of Sandakan rather than hotel guests). I would highly recommend and would definitely stay again
Good hotel for our short stay in Sandakan. Room plain but comfortable. Air conditioned. Fantastic roof top restaurant - we had a great dinner there during a tropical down pour. Lovely food.
the nak hotel was central for pickup by tour operators for all tourist destinations to that area, hotel also has a tour adviser there, I would highly recommend this hotel fine food, helpful/friendly staff, excellant roof top dinning
