The place was filthy. Walk on the floor and feet were black. Dust on the baseboards. Sink and tub nasty

I’ve stayed here twice at San Marcos Motel. It is very clean and convenient for a quick overnight stay. The price is excellent and check in at 2 is very helpful as well. This will be my go to for an overnight stay going forward.

We chose this property for its economy. It was basic in many ways but more than adequate, well kept, and the manager was very helpful and friendly. Everything worked and was exactly what we were looking for as our outpost for going to Solvang. The price allowed us to make a 3-day stay. If you're looking for a 'resort', look elsewhere. If you want a good place to stay, this worked well.

Decent bare bones motel off Hwy 101
This is a bare basics motel, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It comes with big parking spots, both a microwave and a fridge, and it's in a safe location. Check in was easy and the proprietor was friendly. I knew from the photos that this would be a mom-and-pop type establishment, and I was right. For me, this usually means uncomfortable beds and a sore back in the morning (right again). Freeway access was excellent and I liked how I was only a short distance from Solvang.
