Dream Casa Ambrosio.
Walk to the Plaza - Keeping your good health in mind, we follow AirBnB’s 5-step enhanced cleaning process between guests, every time. In addition, we provide a keypad entry. Step inside more than 2,000 square feet of impeccably clean, in Santa Fe’s Historic District. The living room features a high, coved viga log ceiling; 80-year-old Venetian plaster adobe walls nearly two feet thick; a beautiful, working kiva fireplace; dining table; and plenty of comfortable seating.
In the adjacent den, find the same gorgeous high viga log beams, a second working kiva with Mexican tile accents, and a 65-inch smart TV that streams and provides 185 channels of Xfinity cable, including Showtime. You’ll also find board games, jigsaw puzzles, books about the history of New Mexico and Santa Fe, guides to local hikes and bike trails, driving guidebooks, and maps. The new den sofa pulls out into a high-quality queen bed to accommodate extra guests. A leather-clad room divider rolls into place to keep the den private from the rest of the house as needed.
The large courtyard and deck are all about outdoor living, with generous seating and space for leisurely meals.
Beds and baths
Luxuriate in the main suite’s high-end king bed, ample closet space, antique furnishings, and French doors leading to the expansive, covered outdoor living area.
The main full bath has a grab bar and handheld option in shower, hairdryer, hair straightener, makeup removal cloths, feminine hygiene essentials, and makeup mirror.
Tall interior doors close to isolate the main suite from the rest of the house, creating true privacy.
Sleep soundly in the second bedroom’s new queen bed, surrounded by warm southwest décor and ample closet and storage space. The second full bathroom is well-appointed and comfortable.
Premium Egyptian cotton bedding, choices among premium pillows, extra blankets, pillow and mattress protectors, screened windows, plantation shutters to block the high-desert sun, and white noise sound machines all add to a great night’s sleep in both bedrooms. Each bedroom also offers a luggage rack and USB plug-ins for your convenience.
This single-story home sleeps six, including the comfortable queen sleeper sofa in the den.
Indoor kitchen
The eat-in kitchen features coppery granite counters, double sink, five-burner gas range, and three-rack dishwasher. The side-by-side fridge offers filtered water and ice in the door, and a portable Brita filtered pitcher inside. The electric kettle and 12-cup programmable coffee maker, as well as a choice of French press and stovetop espresso maker, help start your day right with complimentary hot coffee, tea, and cocoa. Chefs will find an Instant Pot adjusted to the altitude, Cuckoo brand rice cooker, countertop second oven/broiler, full set of Cuisinart nonstick cookware, baking equipment, Kitchenaid blender, small food processor, and toaster, service for 8 in dinnerware and local Nambé flatware, wine and margarita glasses, olive oil, an assortment of seasonings, and cookbooks.
The kitchen bar seats four comfortably, and just around the corner you’ll find the dining table. And then there’s the outdoor kitchen… .
Outdoor living
The new outdoor kitchen with Mexican tile backsplash offers a five-burner Lion built-in gas grill, gas side burner, warming drawer, refrigerator, double sinks (from May to October), and lots of prep space. Grill baskets and griddle, outdoor dishware and flatware make cooking and serving easy.
The adjacent spacious courtyard and covered deck offer plenty of three-season seating, including a drop-leaf table that seats four to six, where you can savor any treat from morning coffee to dinner right off the grill. Lighting throughout keeps the space welcoming through dessert.
Work space
In case work is on the agenda, the separate office is outfitted with an antique mission oak desk and chair and wireless printer. From dining table to couches, from kitchen to deck, laptop workspaces abound. High-speed Xfinity internet’s strong, reliable signal is boosted throughout the house.
Tech
The house is both old Santa Fe and up to the minute – in addition to the high-speed wifi and smart TV, you’ll find Echo smart speakers that play news and music and give information on command, and you’ll enter the house via keyless lock.
Heating/cooling
Dream Casa Ambrosio stays comfortable through Santa Fe’s four seasons. Double-adobe walls limit the need for either heating or cooling, but when the weather demands it, the house provides modern heat and air systems throughout. The two original wood-burning kivas can warm the body and soul in cold weather, while hacienda screen doors, screened windows, and ceiling fans allow cool air to circulate naturally in warmer seasons.
Nearby attractions
This house’s walkability score of 87 tells you how close it is to what you want to see in Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe Plaza, settled by the Spanish in 1610, is home to the Georgia O’Keefe, State History, and many other museums, world-famous fiestas and art markets, galleries, amazing restaurants, and so much more. It’s easily reached on foot through adobe-lined streets as old as the city, or by a five-minute drive.
The Railyard, with its large farmers market, restaurants, shops, galleries, parks, bike trails, movie theaters, and museums, is even closer.
Santa Fe is the third-largest art market in the nation. Canyon Road, a five-minute drive away, is lined with galleries, and many more galleries surround the Plaza and Railyard. The Santa Fe Symphony performs from autumn into winter at the Lensic Theater near the Plaza, and ten minutes’ drive will take you to the world-renowned Santa Fe Opera.
Hikers will find a large system of hiking trails that starts less than a mile from your door, as well as several hikers’ guides to the area in the den.
For your dog
We love dogs! If your reservation includes a (housebroken) dog, you’ll find directions to the park down the street and to the wonderful 147-acre off-leash Frank Ortiz dog park a mile away. Our gated compound is surrounded by a wall and fence to help keep a small dog safe.
