What makes this particular home so special, unique & sought after to stay at? 'Cochiti'- at 23 Mesa Encantado, is the highest, most private casita within the beautiful Pueblo Encantado development in the Tesuque area and is also one of only 2 free standing homes that are not connected to other casitas. This fabulous retreat offers the ultimate in seclusion, privacy and tranquility along with magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and has spectacular New Mexican stargazing. Located right across the street from The Four Seasons~ Rancho Encantado, this casita is nestled into the foothills and has a stunning large main patio which expands the entire length of the house. Itâs fabulous! Both bedrooms are very spacious. The guest bedroom has french doors (also with screen doors) that open onto a gorgeous private patio with it's own seating area and outdoor kiva fireplace (firewood included) Both bedrooms have extremely comfy carpeting and beautiful, recently renovated bathrooms complete with travertine shower walls and stone countertops. Celebrities such as Robert Redford, Robert Michener, Liz Taylor and Bruce Springstein have stayed at Cochiti numerous times.
The 5 star Four Seasons 'Encantado Spa & Restaurant' is located just across the street (only a 10-15 minute walk) and offers fine dining, a bar and an array of luxurious spa treatments. Hiking trails are literally right outside your door at Cochiti (with gorgeous 360 degree vistas and magnificent sunsets just up the hill behind the house. We know you'll be as enchanted with our casita and with Santa Fe as we are. It truly is the âLand of Enchantmentâ!!
We were very pleased with our accommodations; everything was so perfect. It was quiet and the views were absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed our mornings, and evening spent on the patio. The weather could not have been more cooperative. We also spent time being leaf peekers and we saw the most colorful leaves on Santa Fe Ski Resort. We spent time in Santa Fe eating and just hanging our-I always enjoy the shopping. There is so much to do in the area. All in all, the time spent was AMAZING!
Our stay here was perfect. The area, magical. Communication with the owner couldnât be better - they are a true gem! The house offers privacy, is immaculately clean, has gorgeous light, is stocked with all the essentials and has the most wonderful patios with views. It offers peace and quiet, and bird watching right from the patio. Itâs so dark at night that you can see the Milky Way. A nice break from light and noise pollution. There are nearby trails in the community where you can watch breathtaking sunsets. Bring hiking boots! The community pool was a lovely bonus! As much as Iâd like to keep this place my little secret, I 100% recommend this property!
Rest & Rejuvenation in the âLand of Enchantmentâ!
Jan was the most amazing of hosts! Beautiful home with amazing views - very private and quiet. Enjoyed plenty of rest and relaxation - and great âsky viewingâ! A very southwest vibe with amazing decor! An abundance of thanks to Jan for such an easy and stress-free processâŠand for the gift of being able to stay at her beautiful home during my travels to Santa Fe! Many thanks & many blessings!
This house was beautiful with an incredible art collection inside and out. It felt like a home more than a rental, with a great sense of the people who have lived there. It has a lovely sense of isolation with views over the hillsides, yet it was only 15-20 minutes to Santa Fe Plaza. And the stars - oh my! More stars at night than I've seen in years. The owner was very communicative and helpful. I highly recommend this rental.
We are so happy we found Jan and her casita home. We had everything we needed and more to make for a perfect relaxing getaway from our triple digit Texas summer heat. This is an exceptional property both inside and out and we highly recommend staying here. The furnishings and decorations are so lovely and special, and in keeping with the Santa Fe culture and surroundings. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. Jan is the perfect host and we so much appreciated her personal involvement and follow-up to ensure our stay was the best it could be. We definitely would stay here again!
This 2 bedroom/2 bath home has stunning views from the large terrace. the furnishings are comfortable and stylish, the beds great. With a fully appointed kitchen, it's a great place to entertain. The host is gracious and responsive and her "guide book" to Santa Fe spot on. Post-Opera stargazing on the terrace was one of the highlights of our time in this sensational retreat. And it's close to Santa Fe and the very near-by Tesuque Village Market, a great spot for excellent NM cuisine.
This casita is a gem: Spectacular location, beautifully appointed home, and wonderful personal touches with art and Southwest memorabilia. The home is stocked with every possible item one would need (better than my own home), and the host is incredibly responsive, helpful, and welcoming. I'm already planning my return visit.
This magnificent two bedroom cottage was better than we even imagined! The pictures cannot tell you how welcomed you will feel upon entering. It is simply BEAUTIFUL!
Completely private and quiet. The kitchen is well stocked, beds comfortable, extremely clean and the host, Jan is the nicest person and very easy to communicate with.
If you are visiting the area, we cannot recommend this little slice of paradise enough.
The location is great for going into town and don't miss the Tesuque Village Market. Great food, bakery and fun store.
The photos do not do this property justice - stunning and yet super cozy. The location for us was awesome as we were attending a wedding at the Four Seasons. All rooms were spacious and well-appointed. We had everything we needed and then some. The outdoor areas in particular were amazing and relaxing. If you enjoy peaceful surroundings and star gazing I cannot imagine better.....
Private art filled casita with lovely views, trails, great sky, well lit and outfitted kitchen with basic supplies already stocked, multiple comfy spots inside and out with great kiva fireplaces, a super host - we had a great stay and would highly recommend this home.
Traveled to the property after weekend in Albuquerque for balloon fest. Great transition to a more ârelaxingâ environment- property was immaculate, very cool decorated, great views and not a bad drive into downtown Santa Fe (about 15 minutes). Property owner was super responsive. All in all a great 3 days!
Jan's property is the perfect getaway spot in Santa Fe. The house is clean and spacious and exceptionally comfortable with views (from inside and outside) that are unmatched. It's only 15 minutes from town and all the restaurants and things to do Santa Fe has to offer, and only 1 minute from the Four Seasons Resort (great restaurant and bar, GREAT Spa, etc.). We highly recommend this property.
Traveling with our lifelong friends we have made so many wonderful memories. Our experience at this lovely home is among the best! We were so fortunate to stay in this beautiful location perched high in the hills. The views were spectacular and the sunsets gorgeous. Just a short distance from the Santa Fe square and wonderful restaurants. We could not have asked for a more beautiful surrounding or perfect host. Jan was gracious, personable and her book of recommendations was so very helpful. We all look forward to returning again soon.

Our group of 4, 2 couples, were comfortable in this well-appointed high desert getaway. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and the living area is spacious. There is easy access to the interstate, from which downtown Santa Fe is about 15 minutes and Bandelier and Valles Caldera parks are about 1 hour, Taos pueblo is about 1h 45m via the gorgeous high road. This is a space that is obviously well cared for and a true family home. We would stay again without hesitation.
The property was great for 2 couples, each have their own bathroom. It's away from the square not far from the 4 Seasons. There were a few issues with the property but the host responded immediately. She was very helpful with restaurant and restaurant recommendations .
