How close is Stunning Historic Home on Broughton St to downtown Savannah?
The home was very beautiful and impeccably clean! The owners tried to keep the decor true to the time period. Our bed was super comfortable! Our one parking space in the garage was very small. The rental company helped us out by allowing us to switch with a neighbor, and they facilitated the communication between us and them. There is additional parking out on the main road but you have to pay for it and sometimes parking can be very, very scarce! While the house is in a great place to walk to most places, there is a lot of traffic on the road and it's very noisy! If you are sleeping in the front bedroom which is the main bedroom, it's pretty difficult to sleep unless you're used to a lot of road noise. There were no end tables in the living room next to the couch so that made it a little less comfortable than it could have been I guess. The water is not draining out of the main bathroom tub/shower very well.
The house was absolutely lovely. Alll 3 bedrooms were.wel decorated and the beds were super comfy. We all felt right at home. Parking was a non issue. Always a space out front..1 per hour for 12 hours. Nights were free. We walked everywhere with no problem. And...the framed TV was super cool! Great place!
The house was everything we wanted! All of the additional Christmas touches were even extra pieces of perfection! Such a beautiful, historical home. Thank you so much for providing this home!
This house was beautiful with so much charm! A great location easily walkable to the downtown but still in a quiet location. Home was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Host was easy to communicate with although we didnât have any issues. We would definelty stay here again and recommend it to anyone!
Our rental was a lovely historical home with a convenient modern kitchen. We were so comfortable, and we were in the famous historical district. We loved our stay!
This home has been beautifully restored and looks exactly like the photos on the VRBO site. The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. Thereâs a garage, but be warned if youâre driving a large vehicle, itâs a bit challenging to get into the garage from the lane behind the house. Everything downtown and along the river is within walking distance. Itâs only 2 blocks to the Hop On Hop Off Trolley stop which will take you all over town. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we return to Savannah.
We absolutely LOVED this place! The loocation was great. Easy walking distance to River Street and all the shops on Broughton. This place os a 10/10! We will definitely be staying here every time we go back to Savannah!
Exceeded expectations
Clean
Location - only drove/easy drive to Kroger for groceries. CVS downtown easy walk. Walk to river shops & restaurants easy for able bodied; some elevation required. My 85 yo mom even did pretty well although she was over it after sheâd âseen itâ. Bring your streaming password for in-house evening entertainment while the young ones go out.
Broughton is a main through fare. No noise issues. 3 blocks past âdowntownâ toward the quiet end. Always felt safe.
Street parking easy $2/hr M-F 8a-8p/ free 8p-8a and Sunday. See sign for street sweeping night. Off street lots are priciest. If you use a garage reserve in advance to save $8/night. Lincoln Street carriage 2 blocks. Carriage house garage accommodates up to size of minivan - tight squeeze. Courtyard and garage shared with carriage house apartment that sleeps 2 more should you need more space. Separate listing.
Above average attention to details. Well appointed and high quality kitchen everything, plenty of pillows, linens. Mr. Coffee & filters, Keurig. Big frig, ice maker. Bring variety of baggies for leftovers and extra kitchen towels if youâre going to cook a lot. I told everyone to bring a towel just in case but towels provided were adequate.
Appreciated the hangers, iron, and W/D. Stairs narrow and steep but not a problem for our group, even the 85 yo.
Management checked on us upon check-in; would have been easy to contact had we needed to.
Would DEFINITELY stay here again.
We loved our stay at this beautiful home which is located within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the Riverfront. The house is huge yet cozy with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The semi-private courtyard is a perfect spot for drinks and conversation. (The house shares the courtyard and garage with the carriage house, which is available separately.) One of the three bedrooms has a skylight which lights up the room and is perfect for early risers. The house is solidly built and very quiet. One caution is the wooden stairs to the upper level are fairly steep. Paid street parking right in front of the house was no problem. Get the day pass! (One car can park in the garage but it is TIGHT.)
Two minutes away is the Davenport House Museum - pay the small fee and take a tour! You can also catch an OT Trolley outside there, just be sure to buy your tickets online first.
This Broughton Street home is the perfect place to stay in Savannah.
Location. Location. Location!
The property itself was lovely! The location couldnât be beat as it is on the main street, but more residential and with lower noise and traffic. There were a few things that were a little disappointing though. We had to buy toilet paper and paper towels as enough were not supplied. The living room sofa was stained. We never did figure out how to get the overhead lights on in the kitchen so it was a little bit dark. None of these issues interfered with a great stayâŠjust inconveniences. We would probably stay again đ
House was exactly as described, location was great, and host communicated with us frequently to check on us. I will definitely be staying there again....
Only negative was a neighbor backing into the garage damaging the door so was could not park in the provided garage but that was a random event and did not reflect on the property or the host..
This property is amazing, very clean, great location, ample amenities, comfortable and quiant, so much Savannah charm too, we absolutely loved our stay, we will be back!!!
Great location and the house was what we needed for the weekend. We had to pay to park the second car because the visit parking pass was not available by the time we arrived.
Upon arrival, the garage door would not open by using keypad. With the garage in the back of home, you have to walk around the block to get to front door keylock, walk through the house to the back patio to open the old garage door manually to get into garage to push the open key on keypad! Note: There are steep stair on the front entry and going out to patio with NO HANDRAILS! All bedrooms are up another steep set of narrow stairs, which makes carrying heavy suit cases a challenge for seniors (74-79 year olds). Upstairs thermostat is on 61 degrees. Freezing! Heat is turned off, so temps ranged from 61-63 which was difficult changing or showering. We sent emails and text about garage door not opening with keypad. It was not fixed the whole time we were there! This is a beautiful and really clean house but way to many issues.
Spacious classy beautiful home, large rooms and nicely done bathrooms. Has everything you need. The location is great, walk to everything. Sweet little courtyard to sit out in. We loved this property and will be back. Very very comfortable and special.
